Otek Ac Plus Ear Drop is a multidrug composition, thus it works via multiple mechanisms. Firstly it acts as a local anaesthetic that works by stabilizing the neuronal membrane by blocking the voltage-gated sodium channels. This inhibits depolarization of the postsynaptic nerve that prevents the transmission of pain signals. Secondly, works by reversibly binding to the 50S subunit of the ribosomes of the bacterial cell. This interferes with the activity of peptidyl transferase which in turn inhibits protein synthesis in the bacterial cells by blocking peptide bond formations. Thirdly, it binds to phospholipids in the fungal cell membrane and alters its permeability. Lastly, it inhibits leukocyte entry at the inflammation site, interferes in inflammatory response mediator functioning, and reduces oedema and scar tissues.
Whenever you take more than one medicine, or mix it with certain foods or beverages, you"re at risk of a drug interaction.
