Orthogesic 50 MG Suspension

Manufacturer: Litaka Pharmaceuticals Ltd

Prescription vs.OTC: Prescription by Doctor required

Orthogesic 50 MG Suspension is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory painkiller. It works by blocking the production of Cyclooxygenase, which inhibits the production of prostaglandins in the body. Prostaglandins and cyclooxygenase are responsible for the process of inflammation, acute pain and swelling of joints. Therefore, it is used in the treatment of various conditions such as back pain, severe menstrual cramps, migraines, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, fever and post-operative pain.

Orthogesic 50 MG Suspension provides rapid relief from acute pain, in just fifteen minutes. However, due to the harmful side effects that can occur due to prolonged usage of this medication, it is advisable to discontinue the course within 15 days.

Orthogesic 50 MG Suspension is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It provides efficient relief from acute pain that is a symptom of thrombophlebitis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ear infections and dysmenorrhea. This medicine is also used to reduce fever and to inhibit the growth of cancerous cells. Orthogesic 50 MG Suspension can treat mild to moderate pain from joint and muscle stains or sprains, effectively. It takes effect quickly and gives relief from pain, within fifteen minutes.

Cyclooxygenase (or COX 2) is an enzyme that synthesizes a compound called prostaglandin. The production of the prostaglandin compound in the body, results in inflammation, pain and swelling of the joints. Since Orthogesic 50 MG Suspension is a COX 2 inhibitor, it alleviates these symptoms. This drug attacks all the components that contribute to the process of inflammation such as histamine, proteolytic enzymes, free radicals, prostaglandin as well as cyclooxygenase.

Orthogesic 50 MG Suspension is available in tablet form. The standard dosage recommended per day is one or two tablets of 100 mg per day. Each patient’s symptoms and illness differs, and so it is important to follow the prescription that your doctor recommends. You can take this tablet either with or after food. However, it is essential to complete the course as per the doctor’s prescription and not to skip out on a dose. Children below the age of twelve years cannot consume this medication. Patients suffering from chronic conditions such as arthritis cannot continue to take this medication for prolonged periods since this can lead to harmful effects. It is suitable for short-term relief of acute pain. The course should not last for more than 15 days, else it can have severe consequences on your health.

Orthogesic 50 MG Suspension can result in minor side effects such as acidity, nausea, stomach cramps or aches and vomiting. If you are allergic to this medicine, you can suffer an allergic reaction such as rashes, shortness of breath, hives and swelling of the tongue or face. In some cases, severe side effects such as Stevens - Johnson syndrome, blood clotting disorders, elevated enzymes of the liver and skin rashes, can occur. 8 Dietary Changes to Boost Your Fertility!

4 Dietary Changes that can Increase Your Chances of Getting Pregnant

At times being able to conceive becomes a challenge due to certain biological reasons. Feeling positive and eating healthy naturally takes you a step nearer to getting pregnant. In case of no medical condition acting as an obstruction, consuming the right food can increase your chances of getting pregnant.

Here’s a list of supplements you can include in your diet to maximise your chances of getting pregnant.

1. Choose whole grains over refined carbohydrates: Reducing the intake of refined carbohydrates (found in milk, potatoes, corn to name a few) can reduce inflammation of the genitals, which will help increase fertility. You can still continue to have your favourite foods, but ensure they are low GI (glycaemic index- a figure used to represent the ability of carbohydrate to increase glucose in blood) carbohydrates.

You can consume whole grains, which help in reducing insulin levels that in turn reduce the risk of heart diseases and diabetes and also help lower cholesterol levels. Try having whole grain bread instead of white bread and porridge instead of sugary processed cereals to reduce your GI ingestion.

2. Harness the power of Proteins: Proteins are an important part of your diet and the type of proteins you require careful consideration as they help make new hormones. Try having 25gms of vegetable protein like seeds, legumes and nuts instead of animal protein.

Add dairy foods to your diet as they are also a rich source of protein. They provide vital minerals and nutrients like magnesium, calcium and vitamin B12 to the body and at the same time are low in calories. Include milk, yoghurt and cottage cheese to your meals so that you have a minimum of three servings of dairy products a day, which is essential to meet your nutritional needs and increase your chances of having a baby.

3. Welcome Good Fats: Processed foods, fatty meats and takeaways are high in saturated fats including trans fats. These lead to inflammation and an increase of oxygen free radicals in the body, which decrease fertility. So, incorporate good fats in your diet in controlled quantities. Try having avocado and tomato on a whole grain toast, for instance.

4. Make folate an integral part of your diet: Folate is an essential nutrient that helps in decreasing the incidence of birth defects in babies, while ensuring a healthy conception. Along with the prescribed supplements, try to increase its intake in its natural form. The best way to do this is by having green leafy vegetables, which are a rich source of folate. You can also have veggie sticks and vegetable soup along or green vegetable dishes to increase your folate intake.

Menses - Foods You Should & Should Not Eat!

You're well acquainted with what happens when your period hits: your stomach spasms, your desires go into overdrive, and eating healthy appears like a noteworthy trial of resolve. A good week pretty much goes into binge-eating out of our bed and watching movies that will make us cry at the drop of a pin. All the dieting and work-out we have been at for the coming bikini months go in vain. And when you realise that, your mood sinks further and the only thing that you presume may get you out of that is another tub of chocolate ice-cream.

Keeping a list of have and have not’s may give your brain some clarity on what to eat and what not to eat during this time of the month

Foods you should eat

  1. Complex carbohydrates:Carbohydrates present in fruits, veggies and whole food are the most nutritious types of foods. And nutritious is what you need during your periods. Also the fruits may present you with the sugar that is required to satiate the sugar cravings that you have during your periods.
  2. Dark chocolate indulgence: Dark chocolates are a key source of antioxidants and serotonin that can help to elevate your mood. So go ahead and grab that bar of chocolate and dig in.
  3. Drink lots of water: It will help to relieve the bloated feeling as your body will be able to release the excess fluids it is holding onto.

Food you must not eat

  1. Caffeine: Caffeine will give you a bloated feeling and can be harsh on the stomach by increasing its acidity and irritability. The constant irritating cramping is enough to keep you occupied, you do not need more of it.
  2. Salt: Excess consumption of salt can cause water retention and result in bloating. Your pants get tight enough during this time of the month’; you don’t need to go under further depression. So pass up on the processed foods and the takeaways from your favourite Chinese restaurants.

Healthy Lunch - 5 Ideas To Help You Pack One!

Think of the day when no one is at home and you have to make your own lunch. You can’t spend too much time figuring out what to make because you are getting late for college or work. Unable to conjure some ideas up, you finally end up buying lunch from the nearest takeaway, never realizing that in the process, you did not do your body any favor.

But, fret not; because all you have to do is learn about a few healthy quick recipes that are a treat, not only for your body, but also for that ever demanding palate of yours. Read on to know more:

  1. Boiled chickpeas: Boiled chickpeas are rich in protein, fiber and low in calories. Chickpeas contain complex carbohydrates that provide a steady stream of energy to your body. The fiber and protein contents in them promote satiety. You can pair them up with sliced tomatoes or cucumber. Feel free to add some spices for a light yet delightful lunch.
  2. Chapatti wrap: You can make a chapatti wrap with fillings that consist of sautéed vegetables and mint chutney. This is a very well balanced lunch that is extremely easy to prepare. Include vegetables such as carrots, cabbage and tomatoes that provide the all essential vitamins and minerals
