About Novaclox Lb Capsule

Novaclox is a combination of two beta-lactam antibiotics containing Amoxycillin, lactobacillus and dicloxacillin as active ingredients. The capsule is used for bacterial infections, gum infections caused by bacteria, treatment of beta-haemolytic Streptococcal infections, the treatment of pneumococcal infections and bacterial infections of the throat.

The medication works by inhibiting the formation of the bacterial wall. The side effects of this medication though not containing sever ailments are diarrhoea, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, gastro-intestinal discomfort, weight loss and weakness and allergic reaction in some cases. This medication has to be taken under medical supervision as there can be reactions with several other drugs and react on pre-existing diseases as well.

It is shown that some health conditions make you more susceptible to the side effects of this drug. The dosage is prescribed on your condition and your pre-existing medical condition. The medication should be used cautiously by people suffering from liver and kidney diseases and conditions as it shows it can cause adverse conditions.

People who are allergic to any penicillin, to any active ingredient or to cephalosporins should consult a doctor avoid taking this medication. It should be taken with plenty of food and water to avoid and upset stomach.

Take medication as directed, with a large glass of water 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals. Take at regular intervals around-the-clock and take for length of time prescribed.

You may experience some gastric distress (small frequent meals may help) and diarrhea (if this persists, consult prescriber). If diabetic, drug may cause false tests with Clinitest® urine glucose monitoring; use of glucose oxidase methods (Clinistix®) or serum glucose monitoring is preferable.

This drug may interfere with oral contraceptives; an alternate form of birth control should be used. Report fever, vaginal itching, sores in the mouth, loose foul-smelling stools, yellowing of skin or eyes, and change in color of urine or stool.

    How does this medication work?

    Novaclox Lb Capsule is a Penicillin antibiotic and inhibits the transfer of a peptide group in the transpeptidation process. As a result, the bacterium is not able to build cell walls and is killed. It also inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis in its third and last stage when dicloxacillin binds to penicillin-binding proteins and autolysins mediate the process of cell lysis. Lastly, it produces lactic acid in the intestine, thereby preventing pathogens or bad bacteria from entering and growing. The lactic acid produced by this medication helps in restoring gastrointestinal health.

        This medication does not interact with alcohol and no side effects are seen.

        False-positive urine and serum proteins; false-positive in uric acid, urinary steroids; may interfere with urinary glucose tests using cupric sulfate (Benedict's solution, Clinitest®); may inactivate aminoglycosides in vitro.

        • Increased effect: Disulfiram, probenecid may increase penicillin levels.
