Brozeet Ls Syrup

Brozeet LS Syrup is a widely used cough syrup, prescribed to both kids and adults to relieve them from cough with mucus.

The syrup proves to be quite effective when used to get relief from symptoms like Cough, Chest congestion, Colds, Asthma, Acute and chronic bronchopulmonary diseases associated with some common underlying causes such as abnormal secretion of mucus, excessive phlegm accumulation inside the air passages, constriction of airways, acute sore throat, thickened mucus cough, lungs inflammation and various other conditions.

This medication may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide. Brozeet is manufactured by Alembic Pharmaceuticals Ltd and contains Ambroxol, Guaifenesin and Levosalbutamol as active ingredients.

It helps the patient by eliminating most of the above mentioned symptoms and making breathing activities in the lungs and airways simpler. The syrup’s primary working principle relies on relaxing the muscles of the airways, hence resulting in efficient mucus clearance and reducing the phlegm in the air passages. The syrup is also known to help the patient because of its mucolytic, expectorant, and bronchodilator effects.

• Are there any missed dose instructions?

  In case you miss a dose, use it as soon as you notice. If it is close to the time of your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your dosing schedule. Do not use extra dose to make up for a missed dose.

• Are there any overdose instructions?

  Consult your doctor in case of overdose.

This drug is an agent that causes diffusion of thick mucus. Uncontrolled quantity of nitric oxide (NO) is related to inflammation and other kinds of disruptions of the functioning of the airways. It inhibits the activation of guanylate cyclase which is nitric oxide dependent. Also, it reduces adhesiveness and surface tension of congealed mucus in upper respiratory tract to increase flow of mucus, stimulating and increasing efficiency of the cilia to remove the accumulated mucus. Lastly, it works as a β2 adrenergic receptor that results in increase of cyclic AMP. Increased AMP leads to activation of protein kinase A which again prevents phosphorylation of myosin. All this mechanism leads to relaxation of smooth muscles.

  The patient must consult the doctor before taking this medicine in the following conditions

  • Have high blood pressure and heart disease
  • If you are suffering from liver or kidney problems, or if you are taking alcohol
  • If you have asthma, inflammation of air passages, lung disorder in which the flow of air to the lungs is blocked
  • Indication of worsening asthma
  • Inform your doctor while undergoing urine tests, if have recently taken or are taking guaifenesin as it can affect some results
  • Regularly monitor blood potassium levels.
