This medication is known to be a calcium channel blocker. It effectively treats hypertension and angina. The drug reduces the effect of calcium in the body, increasing blood flow from the heart as well as the blood vessels in the body. This, in turn, helps lower blood pressure of the body, regulate erratic heartbeat and relaxes the heart.

The dosage of this tablet and the duration it needs to be taken for depends on the extent of your condition. Alcohol consumption should be avoided if you are taking this drug. Patients with kidney and liver problems should inform their doctor about their condition and take the drug as per doctor’s advice.
