5 min read- world health organization warning on drinking-water purification standards.

Hi everyone, on behalf of the medical community I would like to bring this concern of health problems related to consuming water purified with reverse osmosis systems.

Popularly knows as ro, has now infiltrated the market quite a bit.

However, what the manufacturers do not want you to know is that ro although removes a lot of germs and pollutants it also removes healthy minerals such as calcium and magnesium.

This can be detrimental to health in many ways.
Causing vareity of health problems, such as, muscle cramps, heart diseases, muscular related pains etc.

These effects may not be apparent on short term use but could become an health issue when you dont get enough minerals off your food.

Alright with that said,
Lets get down to business!

How do you address this problem?
Step 1:
assessment of the quality of water that needs to be filtered (govt supply)

Step 2 log on to the government website and check for a testing lab in youre area. Find the phone number and ask them the specifics about water sample collection. The link to the website:

Step 3: sample collection: when testing for bacterial contamination you must use sterile containers. Once you have the sterile containers, do not open the container till you have the tap open from which you want to take the sample and the tap water let out for 2 to 3 minutes. Then open the container and quickly let the water run into the container till it is full and overflowing, and immediately close the container tight and put the container in a new plastic zipper bag. If there is delay to take the sample to the water testing lab, then keep the sample in the fridge. The water sample should be given to the lab within 48 hours of collection.

Step 4: once you have youre report, look for tds (total dissolved solutes section)

If its greater than 80ppm then stick to ro

If its lesser than 80ppm then go for an uv (ultra violet only) type of a purifier. Which do not remove the essential minerals. Filter the water and store it in copper vessels for 1 day atleast before you fill this water into bottles for refrigeration if thats what you want to do.
