Every patient of acne is different and therefore requires a tailor made treatment while mild cases may respond to change in skincare routine. Moderate to severe cases may require oral medications and cases that are refractory to treatment and adult acne may require a proper hormonal work up to rule out hormonal imbalances like polycystic ovaries. Acne management does not only include treating the active acne that you have but also includes treatment of the scars that the acne has left.
There are medications available for the red and brown marks that the acne is leaving but for your scars you may have to undergo one of the two procedures either derma rollers or scar lasers. As a patient one also needs to know that there are certain rules and don’ts of acne like following the right skincare routine which includes using the right sunscreen and right face wash, following the right diet which includes avoiding food with high glycemic index like mangoes and chocolates. Avoiding steam and sauna which may open your pores and increase the chances of infection and using the right makeup.
