• Pits or holes in teeth
HOW IS CAVITIES DIAGNOSED?

Other diagnostic tools that are used to detect cavities include ultrasound, fluorescence, or fiberoptic transillumination.
HOW IS CAVITIES TREATED?
Treatment depends on how bad the cavity is. Most often, the dentist removes the decayed portion of the tooth with a drill and fills it. Crowns are used when a tooth is so badly decayed that not much of it remains. a root canal may be required if the root or pulp of your tooth is dead.
