Hello Mr. lybrate-user. I understand that your wife is suffering from Iron deficiency anemia. However, it will be prudent to see the reports before knowing why exactly she is not improving with oral medicines. You need to consult a Hematologist. Do get the Following tests done: 1. Serum Ferritin 2. Serum Iron, TIBC 3. Direct Coombs Test, Reticulocyte Count 4. Hemoglobin HPLC (test for knowing Thalassemia status) Do book an online consult and share the reports. Also, I need to know her medications and whether she has been taking them regularly and at the recommended dose. I think we need to ascertain the cause before going for Intravenous Iron Therapy. Also at her Hemoglobin levels (i.e. 9.3 gm/dl), I do not think that she will need Intravenous therapy with Iron immediately. Regards,

Medicines along with changes in diet will be equally helpful for increasing haemoglobin level. 1. Eat Iron-Rich Foods - Some good iron-based foods are liver, red meat, tofu, spinach, almonds, dates, lentils, fortified breakfast cereals, almonds 2. Increase Vitamin C Intake - Low hemoglobin levels due to a deficiency of vitamin C can be corrected by eating more foods rich in vitamin C. Iron cannot be fully absorbed by the body without the help of this vitamin. Eat foods rich in vitamin C like papaya, oranges, lemon, strawberries, bell peppers, broccoli, grapefruit, tomatoes and spinach. 3. Take Folic Acid - Folic acid, a B-complex vitamin, is required to make red blood cells. So, a folic acid deficiency automatically leads to a low hemoglobin level. Some good food sources of folic acid are green leafy vegetables, rice, sprouts, dried beans, wheat germ, fortified cereals, peanuts, bananas, broccoli and liver. 4. Beetroots - Beetroot is highly recommended to increase hemoglobin levels. It is high in iron, folic acid as well as fiber and potassium. Its nutritional value helps increase the body?s red blood cell count 5. Apples - An apple a day can help maintain a normal hemoglobin level. Apples are rich in iron along with various other health-friendly components that are required for a healthy hemoglobin count. For homeopathic medicine, contact us. Homeopathic medicines, will also increase Hb level.

I'm 21 female. I have pcos for the past 7 years. I have irregular periods and immense pain during periods also my periods continue for 4-5 months if I don't take medicines. My last period occurred for 5 months so the doctor prescribed me regestrone and I have been on it for 4 months now and then I had my period after 4 months and so I stopped regestrone. The pain was as usual way too much so I took a trapic mf and I saw a very large blood clot with little white tissues in the side of it. I normally have blood clots but this was nearly equal to size of 3 golf balls. Was the large blood clot for regestrone? Also i'm on lupiheme and zindee.

Pcod is a disease where there is a hormonal imbalance. Depending on your complaints, examination, reports, and stage of life treatment differs, and it also needs more time to get yourself treated with patience. Meet gynecologist in whom you have trust as you will need to go for a long time to him/her. Overweight is very common so in case you have that reduction of weight helps tremendously.
