About Trazine-S Tablet

Trazine-S Tablet is a combination drug used in the treatment of schizophrenia. The drug alters the thoughts and elevates the mood of a patient, thus improving their ability to have coherent thoughts, behave, and feel. Trazine-S Tablet is not recommended for individuals below the age of 18.

Trazine-S Tablet improves the patient’s muscle control and reduces the stiffness in muscles. The drug should be taken as prescribed by the doctor at the same time every day to maintain its consistency in the body.

Before using this medication notify your doctor if:

  • you are allergic to any ingredient contained within it
  • you have blood, heart, liver, bone marrow disorders
  • you are alcoholic or suffer from alcohol withdrawal
  • you are already taking any prescription or non-prescription drugs
  • you have asthma or lung infection, Parkinson or Alzheimer's diseases, dementia or diabetes
  • you have a history of cancer
  • you are pregnant or are planning to become pregnant or are breast-feeding a baby

Trazine-S Tablet can be taken with or without food, in the amount as specified by the doctor. It is absolutely important to not miss a dose, however, in case it’s missed, take the medicine as soon as possible.

Additionally, the intake of Trazine-S Tablet can not be stopped suddenly unless prescribed by the doctor, as doing so may worsen the health condition. Trazine-S Tablet may induce some side effects in some people like constipation, dry mouth, nausea, sedation, urinary retention, nervousness, abnormal heart rhythm, and blurred vision.

In the initial stage, the drug may also cause a drop in blood pressure at body movements such as lying down, changing position, sitting, etc.

Moreover, the medication may cause dizziness and drowsiness, thus don’t do tasks that require mental focus until the effects of Trazine-S Tablet on the body is known. Before starting the Trazine-S Tablet, inform your doctor of personal health conditions such as epilepsy, glaucoma, Parkinson’s disease, kidney, thyroid or heart problems.

    How does this medication work?

    This medication obstructs within the brain the postsynaptic mesolimbic dopaminergic D1 as well as D2 receptors. It slows down the release of hypophyseal and hypothalamic hormones. It is also observed to reduce the activity of the reticular activating system. It also blocks cholinergic activity in the central nervous system and reduces the body secretions, increases the heart rate, dilates the pupils and reduces spasm of smooth muscle. And lastly increases dopamine which is used for smooth muscle movement.
