Roseday 20 MG Tablet is a drug which is used to lower the cholesterol level and triglycerides in the body. It also used to prevent cardiovascular diseases. It belongs to a group of drugs known as “statins”. It is helpful in reducing the need for medical procedures to open blocked vessels. It reduces the blood cholesterol level thus lowering the risk of narrowing of arteries.

It reduces the blood cholesterol level thus reducing the risk of narrowing of arteries. This medication works better, if it is supplemented by a proper diet and regular exercise.

Use of Roseday 20 MG Tablet must be as per directed by the doctor. It is available in oral tablet form. It is also important to take regular dose of Roseday 20 MG Tablet for best results. However if you have missed a dose, don’t try to compensate it by taking an extra dose with the next one. That is extremely harmful to the body. It is harmful to use Roseday 20 MG Tablet if you are suffering from any liver disease. Also pregnant woman or someone planning to get pregnant should not take this drug. You should also consult with your doctor regarding the intake of this drug in case you are suffering from kidney disease or undergoing dialysis. Some other conditions that require the doctor’s clearance are: if you are taking any prescribed medicine or diet supplements; if you have any food or medicine allergies; if you consume alcohol regularly; if you are suffering from any kind of muscle problems; if you have low blood pressure; if you have diabetes etc.

Roseday 20 MG Tablet might also cause certain side effects.The common ones amongst them are constipation, headache, stomach pain, weakness etc. However sometimes it might also cause some severe side effects like allergic reactions, blood in urine, chest pain, severe back pain, symptoms of liver problems like yellowing of skin or eyes etc. If these severe side effects appear, it is necessary to seek medical help right away.

Roseday 20 MG Tablet should be stored at a temperature between 20 to 25 degree celcius. It should be kept away from heat, moisture and direct sunlight. Keep the drug away from the rech of the children and pets.

  • Monoamine oxidase inhibitors

    Do not take are taking MAOIs like selegiline, moclobemide with Roseday 20 MG Tablet or within 14 days of stopping Roseday 20 MG Tablet. Also, do not take Roseday 20 MG Tablet within 14 days of stopping MAOIs.
  • Pimozide

    Do not take these medicines together due to the increased risk of QT prolongation.
  • How long is the duration of effect?

    The effect of this medicine lasts for a duration of 4 to 5 days.
  • What is the onset of action?

    The peak effect of this medicine can be observed in 5 hours after multiple dosing.
  • Are there any pregnancy warnings?

    This medicine should be taken by pregnant women only if clearly needed.
  • Is it habit forming?

    No habit forming tendency has been reported.
  • Are there any breast-feeding warnings?

Roseday 20 MG Tablet is a selective and competitive inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme that converts 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A to mevalonate, a precursor for cholesterol. The primary site of action of rosuvastatin is the liver, the target organ for cholesterol lowering. Rosuvastatin increases the number of hepatic LDL receptors on the cell-surface, enhancing uptake and catabolism of LDL and it inhibits the hepatic synthesis of VLDL, thereby reducing the total number of VLDL and LDL particles.

Whenever you take more than one medicine, or mix it with certain foods or beverages, you"re at risk of a drug interaction.

    Use with caution in adults and pediatrics with depression as it may worsen the symptoms. Close monitoring of these symptoms or any changes in the behavior is necessary. Discontinue the medicine if symptoms persist.

    Seizure disorders

    Roseday 20 MG Tablet is not recommended in patients with unstable epilepsy or in patients who develops seizures for the first time.

    Clarithromycin

    Ketoconazole

    Use of Roseday 20 MG Tablet with Ketoconazole may increase the risk of QT prolongation. Inform the doctor if you experience breathlessness, dizziness after taking these medicines. An alternate medicine should be considered based on clinical condition.

    sulfonylureas

    Roseday 20 MG Tablet may increase the effect of sulfonylureas like Glimepiride. Inform the doctor if you have hypoglycemic symptoms like dizziness, headache, weakness after taking these medicines. An alternative class of medicines or dose adjustments should be made under doctor's supervision.

    Diuretics

    Roseday 20 MG Tablet may lower the blood sodium levels if coadministered with diuretics like hydrochlorothiazide or furosemide. Inform the doctor if you may have symptoms like dizziness, lightheadedness after taking these medicines. Consider regular monitoring of blood pressure and sodium level.
