Hello lybrate-user, for anal fissure, you need to keep your stool soft. For that you need to take plenty of water and any laxatives. Ointment should be applied with finger, inside the anus, before going to pass stool (try ointment escot. To sit in arm water is often very beneficial. Add 10 ml of betadine to 5 litres of warm water and to sit on that. If after doing all this, you do not get relief, then laser lis will the option to correct it permanently.

Hello lybrate-user, if your diagnosis of anal fissure is confirmed and correct, then apply an ointment which contains nifdepin or diltiazem like escot or fidonal., with your finger, before and after passing stool. I thick your ointment (sucral ano) is not helpful for fissure. Also,to sit in warm steer (sitz bath) and taking plenty of water is helpful.
There are other medications like lactulose, movicol etc which should be ideally used in children to relieve constipation. Sucral ano is used for treatment of anal fissures, fistula, haemorrhoids.

Hello sir, I am Dr. consultant general and laparoscopic surgeon in chennai fortis hospital vadapalani. If I am not wrong, the surgery you underwent is lateral internal sphincterotomy for your fissure which is standard universally. But the surgery itself is not enough to cure you. The main cause of anal fissure is constipation. So if you are still constipated, then the healing will still be delayed. And medicines is only temporary. You should drink minimum of 3-4 litres of water per day and add high fibre food to your diet. And if you are diabetic, the healing will still be delayed if your sugars are not undercontrol. Do these lifestyle modifications and your stools will become soft and you will heal soon. Hope I was helpful to you. For any other queries, feel free to watsapp me at mobile. Thank you.
