Cilnidipine 10 MG Tablet used for

I am a 40 years old male, weight: 51 kgs (ht. 5 ft 3 in). I am having high blood pressure since last 03 years. Presently under medication of cilnidipine 10 mg + nebivolol 2.5 mg once daily and my blood pressure is normal. But my serum uric acid often gets elevated for which I take febuxostat 40 mg. My cbc, lipid profile, liver panel, serum na, k values, fasting & pp bs, serum creatinine are all in normal range. Ecg impression is also quite normal, though 2d-echo shows mild left ventricular hypertrophy with diastolic dysfunction. My physician is advising me to switch to losartan 50 mg + cilnidipine 10 mg. What should be the best treatment for diastolic dysfunction/lvh? Should I switch to losartan-cilnidipine combination?

Yes you can switch to losartan and cilnidipine. Losartan has benefits in reducing uric acid also. It will control bp and prevent remodeling of heart too. Adding cildnipine will further help to control bp by dilating blood vessels and reducing work load on heart. The mainstay of treatment for lvh with diastolic dysfunction is ace/arbs, diuretics, ccbs and beta blockers! beta blockers may later be added if needed!

Hi, lybrate user, Atorvastine is required to combat cholestrol whereas ,clopidrogel is used to check chest pain, usually , owing to blockage of valves and coronary arteries. Olmezest is required to treat high pressure to prevent future heart failure , preserving kidney function, hence, holding of hypertensive medication be monitored with the advise of an expert. Tk, care.

Bp is height hot ir age. U have not mentioned why you suddenly stopped medicines. Is it because of some side effects. Start homeopathy. Also follow this 1. Don't take tea empty stomach. Eat something like a banana (if you are not diabetic) or any seasonal fruit or soaked almonds and a glass of water first thing in the morning (within 10 mins of waking up). No only biscuits or rusk will not do. 2. Don't overeat 3. Take your breakfast every day. Don't skip it. U should eat whatever your mother or grandparent eat in bfast. I mean to say whatever is your traditional food. If punjabi eat paratha, if belongs to south then take idli/ dosa etc. 4. Have light meals every 2 hours (in addition to your breakfast, lunch n dinner) e.g. Nariyal paani, chaach, a handful of dry fruits, a handful of peanuts, any fresh n seasonal fruit, a cup of curd/milk etc 5. Finish your dinner at least 2 hours before going to sleep. 6. Maintain active life style7. Avoid fast foods, spicy n fried foods, carbonated beverages 8. Take a lot of green vegetables n fruit. 9. Drink lot of water.10. Everyday preferably sleep on same time exercise in the form of yoga, cycling, swimming, gym etc.Till lock down do suryanamaskar every day. for more details, you can consult me.

I'm 37 year old male on bp meds since the age of 29, i've been on atenolol 50, nifedipine 10, amlodipine 5, currently on metoprolol succinate xl 50 and cilnidipine 10. I learnt from my personal experiences and also from web literature that beta blockers/calcium channel blockers can cause slow heart rate or bradycardia unlike angiotensin receptor blockers (arb' s) like telmisartan or thiazide diuretics such as hydrochlorothiazide or chlorthalidone. Can I switch from beta blockers to arb's with docs advice to negate the effects of beta blockers. What about celiprolol, carvedilol and pindolol? My last bp readings were, 130/90, 140/80 and 130/85 monitored every 7-10 days. I have undergone my lipid profile, kidney function, liver function and thyroid tests a month ago and everything seemed normal. I'm not diabetic and it doesn't run in the family as well. I do have allergic rhinitis from so many years for which I have tried levocetirizine, montelukast and fexofenadine meds as and when required. Also take placida plus for anxiety issues. I'm just asking this out of curiosity.

Hi curiosity is fine, but if you try googling each and every medication you will find something which your mind wants to find. What is best for you your doctors know better than you as the beta blockers which you have mentioned you have just googled them and have no idea regarding their efficacy potency or mortality benefit. You should know that not any beta blocker can be started as there is scientific evidence behind which one to start in a particular patient and this information sadly your google friend won’t give it out to you on a plate, for which you will need to study in a med school for atleast 8 years (md) considering your young age you should be on a beta blocker but instead of cilnidipine you can change to ace or ars but even current medication is fine tc.

Metoprolol and all beta blocker medicines can cause nasal stuffiness. If you have been diagnosed with allergic rhinitis, other drugs may be better for you.

I have been on cilnipres 10 and metolar xr 50 for sometime. Bp remains stable with these meds. I need to know whether I can go for amlokind 5 in place of cilnipres 10 as it is cost effective. I learnt that 5 mg amlodipine is equivalent to 10 mg cilnidipine.

Better way is to consult local doctor and have a check up. He will prescribe appropriate locally available medicines. Change of BP medicine has to be with check up and doctor's prescription.

Tablet cilacar contains cilnidipine which is a calcium channel blocker, helps reduce bp. Dilnip trio contains three medications which are combined together - cilnidipine, telmisartan and chlorthalidone. If your bp is 130/80 with dilnip trio then it means your body has adjusted to the medications. Your doctor would have started dilnip trio after much consideration, so it's advisable not to downgrade from dilnip trio to cilacar. Incase you want to change your medications, it would be advisable to do so only after a full medical history and examination.
