Hi,
your symptoms look more like allergic rhinitis or could be simple viral (flu). Please exclude any allergen that might have triggered your symptoms. Antibiotics do not play any role in such cases. Substitute cetirizine with tab allegra 120 mg twice a day for 4-5 days. Otrivin nasal drops twice a day for 3 days followed by steam.
Hope this helps!

Yes ,you are right cetrizen recommended after 6 month of age. Observe the child for weaning effect of cetrizen which may last 12 hr. But problem is feeding. If child does not awake after 2-3 hr ,urgently contact to paediatriciasn. Other notable side effects are dry mouth, headache sometime retention of urine and rarly convulsion. But do not worry cetrizine is safe medicine in its class but you must consult to paediatrician if child does not awake. I hope ,it is compelete answer of your quarry.

Dear lybrate-user
this can be a simple allergic contact dermatitis. Avoid using soap and you can use olive oil or coconut oil every 4 hour. If it is not resolving, you can consult a dermatologist.
Effective home remedies to treat urticaria include:
â¢a cold compress. A person can apply a cool, damp cloth to the affected area. This can provide relief from itchiness and help reduce inflammation. A cold compress can be used as often as necessary.
â¢bathing in an anti-itch solution. Baking soda baths can soothe skin and reduce irritation. â¢applying aloe vera. The healing properties of aloe vera may soothe and reduce hives. It is advisable, however, to do a skin test before applying aloe vera to the entire area that is affected.
â¢avoiding irritants. This includes perfumes, fragranced soaps or moisturizers, and staying out of the sun. A person should also stay cool and wear loose, comfortable clothing.
you will go in to deep dowsiness and also experience dry mouth for long period. better not to attempt such things. if you have any issue come back and discuss

1. Do saline gargles daily.
2. Whenever possible do steam inhalation also.
3. Cover your nose and mouth with hanky for at least 30 sec when you go in dusty areas also when you go in and out of AC. As our nose is the most sensitive part of our body, When there is temperature difference between two rooms or inside n outside, then if we not protect our nose, it gets affected.
4. Drink Hot Liquids --Hot liquids relieve nasal congestion, prevent dehydration, and soothe the uncomfortably inflamed membranes that line your nose and throat.
5. Sleep With an Extra Pillow Under Your Head-- Elevating your head will help relieve congested nasal passages. If the angle is too awkward, try placing the pillows between the mattress and the box springs to create a more gradual slope.
6. Treat That Stuffy Nose With Warm Salt Water-- Salt-water rinsing helps break nasal congestion, while also removing virus particles and bacteria from your nose.
7. Blow Your Nose Often (and the Right Way)-- It's important to blow your nose regularly when you have a cold rather than sniffling mucus back into your head. But when you blow hard, pressure can carry germ-carrying phlegm back into your ear passages, causing earache. The best way to blow your nose: Press a finger over one nostril while you blow gently to clear the other.
