About Certoparin

Certoparin is low molecular weight heparin that is used to treat and prevent deep vein thrombosis. It works by actively interfering with the natural blood clotting mechanism that the human body possesses.

It lowers the formation of thrombin, which has an important role to play in the clotting of blood, so as a result, this medication prevents blood clots from forming, and also breaks down blood clots that already exist. Often, this is also used to treat pulmonary embolism.

This medication is not absorbed orally, hence it is administered subcutaneously via injection. This medicine can interfere with other medicines, so it is important to let your doctor know:
