Azibact 500 MG Tablet

Azibact is an antibiotic which is used to treat different types of infections caused by a variety of bacteria. This medicine is not recommended for use in case of common cold, flu or viral infection since it is active against infections caused by bacteria only. It belongs to a group of Macrolide Antibiotics useful for treating numerous infections caused by bacteria like middle ear infections, traveler’s diarrhoea. Along with other medications it is sometimes used for curing malaria.

This medicine should not be taken without consulting a doctor. The dosage or how often the medicine is taken depends upon a person’a age, weight, the condition that is being treated, other medical conditions and also how a person reacts to the first dose of the medicine. Effect and uses may vary from person to person. Administration of this medicine takes place either orally or intravenously with doses once per day.

This drug is a bacteriostatic drug. It inhibits protein synthesis by binding itself to 50S ribosomal subunits of the sensitive micro-organism. It infringes with transpeptidation and translocation and thus inhibits protein synthesis and cell growth.
