Anaesthesia is given by anaesthesiologist who is specifically trained in anaesthesia pain management, before any surgery to ease the pain or any sensation. Before giving the anaesthesia, the anaesthesiologist looks in to the medical condition of the patient and also looks into the reaction of anaesthesia if given before. The type and amount of anaesthesia given to the patient is determined by the medical condition of the patient and the type of surgery. There is different type of anaesthesia treatment which is given to the patients depending on the type of surgery. Local anaesthesia is given when the surgery is minor to stop the sense of pain. Patient may be conscious during the surgery but will not feel any kind of pain. Regional anaesthesia is given to numb the larger part of the body while performing the surgery. It may be given through the injection. General anaesthesia is given through air mask to and it passed throughout the entire surgery to keep the patient unconscious. Cardiologists use general anaesthesia to perform open heart surgery, or lung surgery etc. monitoring of anaesthesia during the surgery is the most important part. Second to second observation is done and a close eye is kept on how the patient's body is responding to the anaesthesia. Apart from this, the anaesthesiologist, monitor heart rate, blood pressure, body temperature and breathing, while the surgery is going on. Now a day's more sophisticated technology is used for the anaesthesia monitoring.
