Hello, it is completely safe. However, you need to remove and clean it and replace it again after every 8-10 hrs. Also the changing period would depend on the size of the cup and also the menstrual flow as to how sooner the cup fills up. It is better than the pads for working women.

Dear Lybrate user, it is good to know you wish to switch to a menstrual cup. An fda approved medical grade silicone cup is safe to use. As per the brand of your choice, medium to large cups are recommended for women who have given birth. Start with a smaller size ('medium'),and if you feel comfortable enough, you can graduate to 'large' size cup. When used correctly, a menstrual cup is safe and will not cause or worsen a prolapse. If you wish to know further, you may connect with me over text/call and we shall discuss it in detail.
