Drink plenty of water is enough to feed your baby other than that every one know leafy vegetables and garlic. Shatavari lehyam is best it is sweet in taste so. You don't get vomited.

Yes, baby can get vertical and direct infection. To avoid infection maintain proximity to nature, do not oppose nature. (1) Use nothing too hot in cold weather and use nothing too chilled in hot weather (2) Refrain from antipyretic and analgesic medicines except in case of high grade fever. (3) Avoid perfumes, scented soap,  shampoo and other such Hazardous items like Woolen clothing and other animal dander.

After every feed burp your baby. Babies may puke out extra milk after every feed which is like curd. But see if baby is gaining weight. If gaining weight normally then nothing to worry.

Avoid feeding from that side as much as possible, use a antibiotic ointment between feeds, try to change nursing position. But before you do anything show it to your gynaecologist and let her/him assess the severity.
