All the needle length you mentioned are ok. Smaller needles are associated with less pain. With 4 mm needle you need not have to make skin fold.

These days there are many new and effective medications which can control diabetes and delay the use of insulin. You need a more detailed consultation.

Respected doctors, whenever I take insulin around my navel 1 or 2 droplets of insulin gets wasted. Kindly tell me what is the units of each droplets of insulin and what is the best size of insulin needles--0, 6 or 0.8 or otherwise. Thanks in advance.

Your technique may need modification. Pinch the skin, introduce the needle perpendicularly, not at an angle. After you have injected the insulin, count to 10 to allow some time. Then remove the needle and do nothing to the injection site. You can always use pen device to ensure consisted delivery of insulin with negligible discomfort.

Cold compresses can help reduce swelling in the area. Cooling also helps to numb sharp pain. Apply an ice pack for up to 20 minutes, up to five times a day. Use a frozen gel pack, ice cubes in a plastic bag, or a bag of frozen peas. Wrap the cold pack in a soft towel. Do not apply a cold pack directly to skin. Heat therapy heat helps to relax tense muscles and soothe a stiff area. It can help with muscle pain and bonny pain. Use a heated gel pack, heating pad or a hot water bottle.

Don't be scared all will be done under local anaesthesia. Just get it done. All will be fine. If there is deep seated infection nweds to be extracted.
