Information about Himalaya Himcocid Sugar Free Suspension Banana Pack of 2

Himcocid is an antacid which contains Cowrie Shell Ash and Indian Gooseberry.

Role of Key ingredients:

  • Cowrie Shell Ash (Varatika) is well known for its antacid and digestive properties that are useful in the treatment of gastritis, hyperacidity, heartburn and duodenitis.

  • Indian Gooseberry (Amalaki) effectively reduces the acid and pepsin content in the stomach. At the same time, it increases the mucin, cellular mucus and life span of gastric mucosal cells, which helps in healing stomach ulcers. As an antioxidant, Indian Gooseberry protects the gastric mucosa from oxidative damage.

Himcocid relieves gastrointestinal discomfort and combats ulcers and gastritis. It neutralizes gastric acid, relieves gaseous distension and bilious and dyspeptic symptoms. It is also effective in:
Acid peptic disease (APD)
Non-ulcer dyspepsia
Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
Heartburn
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID)-induced gastritis

Note:
Himcocid suspension is sugar-free and aluminum-free, and, therefore, is safe in diabetics and hypertensives.

Use under Medical supervision.

I want to cut sugar in my diet for weight loss. Can I use sugar free daily? Does it have any side effects?
No, its not good. Instead you avoid sweet things like cake, chocolates, mithai etc. Otherwise in milk or tea its 2-3 spoons of sugar in whole day which is not much. For weight loss first of all you should change your eating habits like 1. Don't take tea empty stomach. Eat something like a banana (if you are not diabetic) or any seasonal fruit or soaked almonds and a glass of water first thing in the morning (within 10 mins of waking up). No only biscuits or rusk will not do. 2. Don't overeat 3. Take your breakfast every day. Don't skip it. U should eat whatever your mother or grandparent eat in bfast. I mean to say whatever is your traditional food. If punjabi eat paratha, if belongs to south then take idli/ dosa etc. 4. Have light meals every 2 hours (in addition to your breakfast, lunch n dinner) e.g. Nariyal paani, chaach, a handful of dry fruits, a handful of peanuts, seasonal fruit (eat whole fruit not juice), a cup of curd/milk etc 5. Finish your dinner at least 2 hours before going to sleep. Take simple food like rice n dal in dinner. 6. Avoid fast foods n fried foods7. Take a lot of green vegetables n fruit. 8. Drink lot of water9. Everyday preferably sleep on same time 10. Maintain active life styleeating every 2 hours increases basal metabolic rate also. If you follow this over a period of time you will see that your intake of food has decreased exercise in the form of yoga, cycling, swimming, gymming, walking etc. Now about point no. 10. You should join a gym for weight training. Do it 2-3 times a week with at least 48 hours in between 2 sessions. Other days you can do cardio exercises. For more details you can consult me.

Mr. Lybrate-user, to prevent diabetes one has to adapt a modified lifestyle. Which means maintain near normal weight, exercise daily for 1 hour or more, take restricted diet giving exact calories based on ideal body weight. Avoid too much of sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods, pastries, sweetened aerated drinks, sweet corn syrup containing products, high fat milk products and highly processed products. Sugarless tablet alone are not much of help.
