Information about Himalaya Diabecon DS Tablet

Himalaya Diabecon DS tablets contain a unique combination of Gymnema (Meshashringi), Indian Kino Tree (Pitasara) and Shilajeet.

Gymnema helps reducing excessive blood sugar in the body, and it stimulates the production and activity of insulin
Pitasara has alpha-glucosidase inhibitory properties and regularizes key metabolic enzymes involved in carbohydrate metabolism
Shilajeet decreases hepatic glucose production and prevents hyperglycemia. It also protects the pancreas and helps it produce insulin.

Himalaya Diabecon DS tablets are an effective anti-diabetic herbal supplement and are used to control and manage type 2 diabetes.
The natural ingredients present in this medication helps the body produce its own insulin and minimize long term complications from the problem. It also helps reduces high glucose content in the blood, keeping the body healthy and functioning normally.

Mr. lybrate-user, The tablet mentioned may be useful as a supportive or additional therapy. But on its own it will not help in controlling blood glucose level. For that you need either modern anti-diabetic drugs or Insulin injections. Unfortunately a lot of unsubstantiated claims are made. Thanks.

It's not important what products you are using. Pls give details of your blood sugar level. I mean fasting sugar, pp sugar, hba1c, serum creatinine, urine re, lipid profile. Just taking ayurvedic or homeopathic medicines without knowing your blood reports won't help you in long run. Pls do the test and discuss with a diabetologist or you can consult with me online.

Dear lybrate-user, considering the age of your father, I would suggest you do following tests initially before starting medicines again. Check hemoglobin level, fbs/ppbs, hba1c, sgpt, urine r/m. This would help choose the appropriate treatment plan for high blood sugar level. You can contact me on this platform for detailed consultation. Take care.

Hello, thanks for the query. I have seen the details mentioned. However, there is no information regarding current glucose control (fasting, pp glucose levels, hba1c%), weight, height, dietary pattern & extent of daily exercise. Without knowing all the details there is no way to give any suggestion or advise. The drug mentioned on its own will not be helpful in controlling blood glucose. It can at best be taken as an additional support. If you have any questions please do come back. Please understand at your age it is essential to maintain fbg < 100 mg, pp 150 to 160 mg & hba1c% < 6.5%, then one is considered having good control. That will help in preventing or postponing the possible long term complications of diabetes affecting various vital organs & systems. Thanks.
