Hi, every digital glucometer shows -20 or +20 readings. So the best and perfect reading is shown in blood sugar fasting and postprandial investigations only. So use of digital glucometer is only for a rough figure of reading.

Dear Lybrateuser, - The above reading (systolic bp) is normal whereas the lower reading (diastolic is high for your age - follow some healthy lifestyle changes: - restrict salt in diet, avoid deep fried, processed & junk foods, also avoid alcohol & smoking if you do - have more of fruits, vegetables, whole grains like whole wheat, brown rice, corn, oats instead of refined ones, low fat dairy & healthy fats as in olive & canola oil or sunflower oil for cooking, nuts such as almonds, walnuts, pista, cashews (a handful of mixed nuts daily), avocados, flax & chia seeds - reduce weight by diet & exercise which will help reduce bp & keep you fit - do regular exercise like walking, jogging, swimming, play an outdoor game, daily morning do yoga, meditation & deep breathing for 10-15 min which helps reduce bp - sleep well for at least 7-8 hrs at night, keep your sleep & wake up time fixed - can get basic investigations like blood CBC, sugar, cholesterol & ECG done to rule out any other problem - also get bp measured by a medical professional to compare the readings & its correctness.

I traveled by bus 24 hours, in almost empty stomach on 31oct-1 November I had feverish feeling till 3rd from 2nd. But I'm having very loose motions, almost liquid as urine. I didn't have any proper solid food since 36 hours since I vomit out yesterday morning and afternoon. Since yesterday afternoon I haven't taken any solid. I'm on gluco, and fruit juices. I've taken Triphala from today morning twice and now my hunger has been partially restored. I've taken one tablet of norbax now.

Hello, looking at your wife's height and weight, it clear that she has a bmi of 30.35 kgs/m2, showing grade 1 obesity. For good blood glucose control weight reduction is essential. Her ideal body weight should be 67 kgs, she is over weight by 18 kgs. This definitely hampers blood glucose control. Secondly, we may have do a proper titration of insulin dosage in relation to blood glucose levels. Plus there may be a need for introducing an additional drug or a long acting insulin. Plus she has to seriously look at her diet and exercise so that weight reduction is done. All these things together will definitely help in better control of blood glucose levels. Initially we should target her fasting glucose level, bring it down to 100 - 110 mg/ 100 ml. Then target pp level. Thanks.
