Sugar-free foods may be helpful if you have diabetes. In many cases, they serve as alternatives to conventional sweetened foods that are limited or restricted from your diet. It is recommended to take proper medical consultation before using any sugar-free products. Your query can be addressed in a more better way if discussed in detail over a call or a video conferencing.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. A person with diabetes should take a restricted diet, that provides exact calories based on his/her ideal body weight, extent of daily exercise and control on blood glucose levels. Following are general guidelines: Avoid sweets completely, no sugar or jaggery, avoid deep fried foods, pastries, junk foods, bakery items, foods made form maida and colas. Consume more of green leafy vegetables, salads and permitted fruits. Use unpolished rice, use whole grain flour for roti and chapati. Specific diet plan to a person can only be given if all the details are made available like: fasting, Pp glucose levels, HbA1c%, drugs being taken with dosage, lipid profile, extent of daily exercise, weight and height, present dietary habits. Thanks.
