Calcigen tablet is a combination of calcium with vitamin D3(calcitriol) and it is used as bone joint supplement.

Calcium is used to prevent or treat low blood calcium levels in people who do not get enough calcium from their diets.Calcium is important for growth and development of bones.
Vitamin D3(calcitriol) that is used in the absorption of calcium in the blood. Vitamin D3 helps in processing of essential minerals in the body like Calcium and Phosphorus. Lack of Vitamin D3 results in bone weakening, bone pain, and skin diseases.

Calcigen is a nutritional supplement which can be taken by people who have low levels of calcium in their blood.
Calcigen is used in elderly people to keep bones healthy and strong, and is even effective in Chronic arthritis and Osteoporosis.

My problem is I am sleeping a lot. I work in night shifts and since it?s my own work I am not able to maintain a regular job type timing to be at work. For the last 7 days I have been sleeping only. 16 hours straight. I am trying to join a gym but just could?t get out of the house. Infact right now on a Monday eve, when I was at rest and sleeping last night then after doing breakfast again I slept the whole day and now woke up at 7 in evening. I regret this routine. Dear Lybrate User, May be due to medication your body has become weak and lazy. You can continue with these medications their is no such harm. You can try for same exercise in which you are comfortable like walking, yoga, it will reduce your sleep and increase your activity, lack of physical activity leads to sleepy nature.

Hello, Low vitamin d levels like endanger hormonal production, weight maintenance and poor bones. You might need some granules or shot after consulting a physician. Early morning sunlight exposure for atleast 15 minutes will help you.

Category C: Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks. So you should ask your gynecologist.

I have hypothyroidism for 4 years recently l got my vitamin d checked and the reports shows am deficient as it is just 11. 38ng/ml and vitamin B12 at 169 pg/ ml. I was advised to take calcigen D3 tabs once a day for 10 days and another one said one tab once a week. Am confused how much should l take kindly suggest.

Lybrate-userji, if vitamin d deficiency is there, then treatment has to be taken for a longer time with a higher dose. There are sachets of vitamin d3, to be taken once a week for 8 weeks, later once a month for a few months. Calcium supplements may also be taken. Thanks.

Hi Since the past few days I'm experiencing this weird feeling of spasms or sort of weird twitches in random places. Abdomen, hands, thighs.
