Viral fever refers to a wide variety of viral infections, generally characterized by the increase in normal body temperature. As the children and old people have lowered immunity, they tend to suffer the most. Patients suffering from Viral infection experience symptoms like body aches, skin rashes and headache. General Physician generally prescribes medications are available to treat viral fever. In some cases, home remedies also help one out in dealing with the condition. The symptoms of viral fever are similar with other common and serious conditions. However, it is characterised by very high fever occurring at regular intervals coupled with chills. It is also accompanied with severe pain around the joints, vomiting, swelling of the face and a rash. Viral fever will not heal with antibiotics as antibiotics are made to kill bacteria. When medications are prescribed by the General Physician, it is important to complete the entire course of the medication, even if one feels midway during the course. The discontinuation of antibiotics midway will lead to the formation of antibiotic-resistant bacteria raising the risk of a relapse or infecting others. Once a person is infected by a virus, one cannot be infected by the same virus again as the body makes antibodies for that specific virus. These antibodies fight the virus before it has a chance to infect once again. If one suffers from recurrent viral fever it is likely that one has been infected by different types of viruses at different stages.
