Add a teaspoon of freshly grated root ginger to a cup of boiling water, steep for 10 minutes, and drink. It relaxes the muscles that line the walls of oesophagus and stomach. Its good to have it before going on long drives if you have tendency towards it or can be taken at time of experiencing the symptom.
