Renal hypertension refers to the condition when there is an increase in the blood pressure of the body, caused by disorders in the kidney. Blood vessels supplying blood to the kidneys constrict in the area, and blood pressure increases. This condition leads to various complications.

There are drugs that help to control the symptoms of renal hypertension, but foods you can eat at home help control and reduce the condition in much healthier ways. These remedies do not cause added problems in your body, nor do they cause any side effects.

Here is what you must include in your diet plan if you really wish to steer away from the complications of renal hypertension-

  • Cauliflower: Cauliflower is rich in vitamins C, K, and B folate. It also contains compounds that are anti-inflammatory and help include fibre in the diet. It contains the right amounts of phosphorus, potassium, and sodium that help treat kidney diseases. It can very well replace popular food items like potatoes as a healthier option.

  • Blueberries: Blueberries are an excellent source of nutrition for someone who has renal hypertension. These are also low in sodium, potassium, and phosphorus, and contain certain vitamins and compounds that can guard you against specific types of cancer, diabetes, and heart disease. A compound called anthocyanin is present in blueberries, which specifically helps in these functions.

  • Egg whites: Egg whites contain the requisite levels of the minerals, while egg yolks are best discarded because they contain high phosphorus levels. On the other hand, egg whites fit all requirements and offer ample proteins. They also offer solutions for people who have their kidneys damaged by renal hypertension and are already undergoing dialysis.

Renal hypertension is a condition, which can affect your lifestyle if not detected and controlled at the right time. Therefore, you need to pay regular visits to your doctor along with following a healthy lifestyle. If you are diagnosed with the condition, you should include the above foods in your diet to control it.
