As an adult, a healthy sex life is key to one's well being and longevity. However, there are certain myths surrounding sex that must be debunked.

If you are a virgin man, you need to know that these commonly believed ideas about sex are nothing but myths.

1) Myth - You should last for atleast 30 mins

Fact - While porn movies or myths about sex portray longer durations, on an average most men ejacuate within 3 to 5 minutes after penetration and it is normal.

2) Myth - Penis size determines a woman's pleasure

Fact - Size of penis does not have any impact on the act of intercourse nor does it affect the pleasure part of it! Unless you have a medical condition wherein an erect penis is less than 3 inches in size.

3) Myth - Wearing an extra condom increases safety

Fact - While wearing a condom guarantees safe sex, adding an extra condom doesn?t make it any more safe. On the contrary, it may increase the chance of one slipping off the other.

4) Myth - It is okay to have unsafe sex during her periods

Fact - It is commonly believed that a girl might not get pregnant due to unsafe sex if she is on her period. This is false. If you have to avoid an unwanted pregnancy, remember that unsafe sex is just that - unsafe.

5) Myth - Masturbation should end when a relationship starts

Fact - Masturbation helps release your sexual tension, refreshes your semen, reduces stress and perhaps your chances of prostate cancer as you age. Masturbation is healthy.

6) Myth - Ignore foreplay to help last longer

Fact - A vaginal intercourse is not what gives a woman an orgasm. Foreplay is a must to get you into enjoying the sexual act.

7) Myth - If you can't get it right the first time, you are doomed

Fact - In fact if it is your first time, you might not get it right. Inspite of all your high hopes, it is absolutely normal for most people to go wrong initially and get better at it with time.
