It is not without any reason that your hair is known as your crowning glory. Even a very beautiful face would loose its appeal if not accompanied by some beautiful curls are around it.

But with the growing stress and pollution, it has become extremely difficult to keep your mane in healthy condition. On top of these two greatest enemies of hair, there are also some very common mistakes that people make, further deteriorating the health of the tresses.

The common mistakes that people make are given below such that you can make sure you do not make them ever:

  • The one mistake that most people make when it comes to hair is combing wet hair. You cannot afford this mistake if you do not want to go bald in a very short time. Wet hair is weak at the roots and hence breaks easily when combed. Dry your hair before combing if you want to avoid excessive hair fall.
  • The second mistake is related to the first one. Using hair dryers regularly for drying your wet hair would make it rough and unhealthy. Vigorously rubbing your hair would also aid in excessive hair fall. The right way to dry your hair is by gently rubbing your hair with a soft and clean towel.
  • If you believe that washing your hair regularly with shampoo would harm your hair, you should know that it is a myth. On the contrary, dirty scalp would only make the hair roots weak, thus increasing hair fall. Wash your hair regularly but with a mild shampoo that is gentle to your scalp and hair.
  • The next mistake people make is not conditioning hair. Using a good quality conditioner after shampooing your hair is not a marketing gimmick. The conditioner acts as a protective covering over your hair. Just make sure you do not use the conditioner on your scalp. Going for a hair spa once in a while would also keep your hair healthy and soft.
  • Oiling your hair to keep your scalp healthy is a myth. Instead there can be no greater mistake than to oil your hair and leave it on. The oil would attract dirt and dust that would stick to the scalp, creating problems like dandruff, rashes and eventually hair fall. Even if you have to oil your hair, make sure you wash it off before stepping out.
