Stuffed toys such as teddy bears or other assorted soft toys tend to act like cushions and pillows by constantly accumulating dust and all kinds of particulates. This could be very dangerous for your child as it could trigger an asthma attack. Just as you would regularly clean your pillow cases and bedding, it is advisable to clean the stuffed toys as well. Ensure that you include these toys in your dry cleaning regimen as well.

If you have asthma, an asthma attack can occur even if you are going into a room that has the leftover cigarette particles. Hence, it is advisable that you stay away from smoking areas as far as possible. If you are getting into a room in an unfamiliar hotel during travel, always ask for a non-smoking room. Try and apply this principle in as many places as practically possible. First and second-hand smoke from cigarettes or cigars cause attacks, and the effect remains intact for many days with the smoke particles that get trapped in curtains, bed sheets and pillow covers, table cloth and other forms of upholstery.

Cleaning the house usually requires the use of strong disinfectants and chemicals. These chemicals are that strong that they can kill microbes found in your house. However, the very same strong chemicals can also cause a reaction within your system and thus end up triggering an asthma attack. It is best for somebody diagnosed with asthma to steer clear of such activities.

Exercise and physical movement is always a good thing to ensure general fitness. It is also important as it strengthens your breathing muscles and improves blood circulation which actually helps reduce asthmatic problems in the long run. What you could do is try and perform exercise indoors, slowly change your exercise routines and cut out specific exercises which may cause discomfort and then build up a routine on it.
