The success of IVF treatment depends on the age and quality of the eggs and the age of the uterus. In some cases, the embryo may be implanted outside the uterus in the fallopian tube. This is known as an ectopic pregnancy. In cases of infertility caused by fallopian tube issues or partially blocked fallopian tubes, IVF can result in an ectopic pregnancy. Some of the symptoms of ectopic pregnancies include low abdominal pain on one side and vaginal bleeding. Ectopic pregnancies symptoms should not be ignored as it can cause internal bleeding and may be life-threatening for the mother. Hence it is essential to maintain regular gynecological checkups after embryo implantation.

Certain lifestyle changes are necessary when undergoing IVF treatment. One of the primary factors to keep in mind is to give your body rest. High impact exercises are not recommended when undergoing this type of treatment. Instead, go for long walks. It is also advised to avoid coloring your hair and using any products that might have an adverse effect on your fertility. After the embryo is reintroduced to the uterus, sexual intercourse should be avoided for a minimum of two weeks.
