How can I clean / sterilize my menstrual cup after use? Are they better than tampons?
Yes menstrual cups are best to use. But in virgin or unmarried girls there are chances of hymen breakage. So be careful. Also to sterilize you can use any antiseptic hand wash to clean it. Use a proper lubrication while inserting. And also learn how to insert it.

The manufacturer offers user guidelines with the packet so it is advised to read it carefully if you are using it for the first time. In general there are four major steps to be followed while using a menstrual cup. These are - initial cleaning (wash your hands properly and sterilize the menstrual cup by putting it into a pot of boiling water for 5 to 10 minutes before inserting it), insertion (use water-based lube outside the cup to reduce friction and making the insertion easier), emptying (depending upon the flow of blood, you may be able to wear it for about 12 hours. Remove it after 12 hour and clean it properly. In case of heavy bleeding, you may remove it early and check it), and storage (it is advised not to store a menstrual cup in an airtight container as it needs moisture to evaporate). Refer to the storage guidelines provided by the manufacturer.

Hello, I am 30 years old and I was wondering. If I use a menstrual cup while my husband gives me anal sex, can the menstrual cup prevent semen from entering the vaginal opening? I realize that having any form of sex without using a condom can potentially cause pregnancy. But, can the menstrual cup for the most part prevent semen from entering the vagina so just in case his penis slipped out of the anus and went upward toward the vagina and semen spilled near the opening, I would have enough time to quickly go to the bathroom and wash off and shower that area and then remove the menstrual cup?

Dear user. TO CAUSE PREGNANCY on a woman, sperm should be ejaculated inside the vagina or fresh sperm should be inseminated inside the vagina with some means during the fertility period of the woman. There are many determinants of pregnancy. You should be sexually matured. Your partner should be sexually matured. The period of your partner should be in the fertile stage. Her egg and your sperm cells should be healthy enough. Then her uterus should be capable to get conceived. If all these were satisfied, the pregnancy could be a result. Semen do not pass through clothes to make pregnancy. Sex during periods does not cause pregnancy. Usually precum do not contain any sperm cells. Period means disintegration of the uterus membrane which is meant to be for the child. Swallowing male sperm cannot cause pregnancy. If you have taken unwanted 72 within 72 hours of intercourse, the chances of pregnancy is low. In the given case, there are less chances of pregnancy. Talk to a gynecologist for advice. Take care.
