What is the reason behind Tearing from eyes in the night while sleeping and I use systane eye drops for about 2 months.
Tearing of the eye is one of the most prevalent problems observed. Tearing of the eyes has multiple causes associated with it. To enumerate a few common causes: (1) allergy of the eye. It is usually caused by improper eye hygiene. It occurs with symptoms of pricking, itching, irritation, watering, foreign body sensation and discomfort. There is a tendency to rub the eyes with fingers, handkerchief, cloth, etc. This is not a good habit because it tends to transmit lots of virus, bacteria and dust into the eye. Allergy usually presents with symptoms of watering (clear water), redness and itching of the eye. Thus, eye hygiene remains the principal modality of treatment along with eye drops as a supplement. (2) infectious conjunctivitis: this is usually associated with white-yellowish discharge. There may occur associated pain and sensation of itching, pricking, watering and discomfort. If so, it would be a good idea to go and show to an eye specialist in person. (3) foreign body lodged in the eye. This is more commonly associated with people who drive 2 wheeler vehicles without protection. It occurs more commonly in one eye. Foreign bodies that commonly get lodged are eyelashes, insect wings, small insects, dust particles, iron particles (more common with people working in the iron industry) the solution for a foreign body lodged in the eye would be better provided by an eye specialist at the clinic because it would require immediate removal from the eye and appropriate therapy. (4) raised eye pressure: this is a condition known as glaucoma. It is not so common as the previous mentioned conditions. There is usually associated pain in the eyes. It is commonly bilateral (occurs in both eyes). There is usually a positive family history of glaucoma associated in a majority of the cases. (5) inflammation of the covering layers of the eyeball. This is known as" uveitis" it is also a relatively less common condition. There is associated pain. It would require a thorough eye checkup including the retina-thus a good idea would be to visit the eye specialist in person. From the symptoms described by you, it seems more likely to be a case of allergy. Maintaining the precautions and hygiene that I mentioned should probably work well for you. You could also use a lubricant eye drop along with an anti-histamine eye drop. (3-4 times daily) (6) obstruction of the connecting passage between nose and the eye (nasolacrimal duct). This has shown to cause severe watering and tearing. It requires investigation by the eye specialist in person (sac syringing should be done). Likewise, depending upon the result of this test, the treatment should be planned. Systane is good but you might first want to get your eyes checked thoroughly by an eye specialist. Hope my suggestions helped you. Take care,

Hello, I have stye on my upper eye lid since yesterday. Please let me know how I can get rid of it. Thanks.
Stye is an inflammation of the eyelid associated with a small collection of pus. Internal styes that appear inside the eyelid tend to be more painful. Applying a warm compress gently against the stye helps it release pus more readily, and resolve the pain and swelling. But we have to look into the details of the problem. Let's have a detailed discussion to Ensure proper treatment.

Hi lybrate-user. Sorry about your eye trouble. You should immediately have washed your eyes with clean water and clean hands. Washing should have been continued for minimum 15 minutes. Should be done gently. Now that already some time has passed since the accident happened, it would be a good idea to use lubricant eye drops frequently (eg. Systane ultra eye drops every hour) use the eye drops for minimum 7 days. Along with these, use an antibiotic eye drops 4 times in the day (eg. Toba eye drops) use these for minimum 7 days. Also take analgesic anti-inflammatory oral tablets for relief to your discomfort. In case, the discomfort persists without showing any improvement in your symptoms, you should visit a cornea specialist by tomorrow. In that way, any other intervention, if required would be done promptly. Also, let me know if it is possible to have a look at your eye using the facility offered by lybrate. If yes, then I would be able to assess the severity of the injury in a better manner and help you further more. Hope my suggestions helped you. Take care-regards.

Hello Lybrate user, in case of a stye hot formentation would help you a lot, take a bowl of water boil it with cotton balls in it for 10- 25 mins, than you have formentation over the stye area, in a manner according to your tolerance of warmness. This would help you a lot. Be healthy, be happy.
