As she is already 6 month old you can start with weaning ,introduce liquids like rice water, dal water initially 2 times a day to check how she tolerates the feed and gradually decrease the intake of formula feeds. Thanks.

Every formula is same. Give whichever suits your baby the best, means if the baby has no colicky, abdomen distension, no stool related issues, catches weight normally etc. But nvr switch formulas. Give only one brand n don?t mix 2 brands or give two brands alternatively or nvr mix breast milk with formula. Try breastfeeding as kid is too small. Ideally it ll b best to give breast milk only. U must try to increase your output by pumping or latching rather. Pls avoid formula as much as you can it?s best to give mother?s milk to the baby exclusively till 6 months atleast. Thanks.

It is better to avoid formula and give only breast milk. You tell the age of the infant. Fruit juice can be given and horlicks also. Always give more natural vitamins in food form. Ask me in case of doubts.

My baby girl is 7.5 months old and her weight is 6.5 kg. At the time of birth her weight was 3.1 kg. I have exclusively breast feed my baby till now. My doctor suggested me to give her formula milk (Similac formula stage 2) to increase her weight. Is it good to give her FM and breast milk (combination feeding) or else I will go with the only breast feeding.

Your baby is not gaining wt properly. By the age of 6 months weaning must have started. Now continue your feed and start giving dairy milk, cereals like thin suji kheer, khichadi, mashed vegetables, dal adding oil or ghee etc. start with one item once or twice in a day to develop taste and then increase frequency and quantity gradually. There is no need of FM.
