Pegalup syrup is a medication that contains Polyethylene glycol, Potassium chloride, Potassium chloride and Sodium bicarbonate as active ingredients present in it. Polyethylene glycol belongs to a group of medicines called osmotic laxatives. It performs its action by carrying water to the stool, which loosens and increases stool volume. It helps to overcome sluggish bowels working gradually within 24 to 48 hours. It is used for the treatment of constipation in adults and children aged 8 years and above.
Polyethylene glycol present in Pegalup syrup is not absorbed into the bloodstream or broken down in the body. It is used to treat inflammatory bowel diseases such as ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease and abnormal dilation of the bowel. It is used to improve bowel perforation and risk of perforation of the bowel. This medication prevents intestinal obstruction and symptomatic narrowing of the bowel. It is helpful to overcome the deficiency of potassium in the body.
Directions of use:
Pegalup syrup can be taken twice daily. The patient should consult the medical practitioner before using it.
