You have to use lantus but instead novo rapid, you can use actrapid or insuman rapid, but shift it under strict doctor's monitoring.

It is highly advisable to consult and speak to your doctor and discuss about your concerns and ideas. Even though different types of insulin may be given based on their action period (different combinations may also be used ), it needs regular monitoring and the dosage needs adjustment over a long period of time, and therefore it is wise to leave the decision to the doctor. The doctor has to do physical examination and assess overall health after going through all the current and past reports. (usually it is safe to wait for 3-4 weeks for the body to respond ). For better compliance, educate the patient and the family members about medical facts (read about Diabetes and it's complications and how simple and practical approach can help to be vigilant and take appropriate precautions. One can empower the patient with simple tips to take responsibility for her own health and also inspire to adapt healthy lifestyle. Healthy habits will ensure better response of the body to the current treatment and thereby reduce the burden of complications and the need for frequent changes of medicines.

Hi Sir, I am using lilly insulin pen with humalog mix 25/75 cartridge. My question is which mm needle is suitable 4 mm, 5 mm or 6 mm? Currently I am using novo 6 mm needle. Can I use 4 mm needle? Should I pinch the skin while using 4 mm needle or should I directly inject the insulin without pinching the skin?

All the needle length you mentioned are ok. Smaller needles are associated with less pain. With 4 mm needle you need not have to make skin fold.
