Information about Livogen Captab

Livogen is an iron supplement that improves the level of iron in your blood. It helps you to prevent the weakening of the blood cells, making your body more healthy and more energetic. It also has folic acid which makes it even better for the overall functioning of the body.

Ingredients -

  • Ferrous Fumarate (iron)
  • Folic Acid

Tablet is the same. Only brand is different. Kindly do peripheral smear to rule out what kind of iron deficiency it is and get treated accordingly. Take protein also as hemoglobin is iron + protien. Avoid taking calcium along with iron tablet and tey taking vitamin c in the form of lemon juice for increase abortion of your iron tablet. Try liver or spleen in your diet if you are a non vegetarian to increase iron.

Livogen caused black stool. Kindly take lot of water and fiber diet along with livogen or otherwise ask your doctor to change livogen to some other iron forms which doesn't cause constipation.

Hi doctor am jyoti. Am 6 month pregnant earlier I use to take livogen tablet. After that changed doctor they suggested me feri - max tablet (iron tablets) now this tablet not available in medical, so now am bit confused can I continue with old tablets livogen. Can you suggest me is it fine change tablet.

Government of India recommends supplementation of 100 mg of elemental iron of which the bioavailability will be about 10% , so any tablets containing 100 mg of iron including the older one you used can be taken.. Along with this in 2nd trimester, deworming must be done and diet rich in iron should be consumed..

IN HYPOTHYROIDISM:--- where there is deficiency of thyroxine hormone leading to sluggishness, tired feeling, weight increase, slow heart beats, intolerance to cold, swelling of legs, feet and face, difficulty in concentrating and at times in speech. Treatment for hypothyroidism is giving thyroxine tablets. And dose are according to level of thyroid for life time. Avoid bad habits . Avoid stress. Some Relax during work. Go for walk, Take plenty of water, high-carbohydrate foods such as potatoes, rice, pasta and bread. Nutrient-rich foods that improve your health may also benefit your thyroid gland, antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables more plenty of water: Blueberries, tomatoes, bell peppers, and other foods rich in antioxidants can improve overall health and benefit the thyroid gland.
