INDICATIONS
Bakson s Kof aid plus is a combination of homoeopathic remedies, which provides quick relief from cough associated with various disorders without any side effects. It does not cause drowsiness and is completely safe for children and daytime use.
Composition: Pulsatilla 6, Rumex crispus 6, Justicia adhatoda 3, Ipecacuanha 3, Spongia tosta 3, Sticta pulmonaria 3, Belladonna 6, Bryonia 6, Coccus cacti 3, Drosera rotundifolia , Ephedra vulgaris , Piper nigrum , Zingiber , Polygala senega , Ocimum sanctum , Balsum tolu .
Dosage: Adults: 1 tablespoon, every 3-4 hours.
Children: 1 teaspoon,every 3-4 hours.
Presentation: 200 ml

Use under medical supervision.

My mother is 50 years old and she has been suffering from dry cough for around 1 week. Before this she had fever. She is diabetic patient. She is taking sugar free dry cough syrup. But haven't got any relief. What should we do now?

Dear Lybrate-user, Any cough lasting more than 5 days, preceded by fever needs to be investigated properly. Kindly get a cbc esr gbp blood test and a chest x ray pa view & contact a pulmonologist on Lybrate forum. Meanwhile maintain blood glucose levels and adequate hydration. Mr. Lybrate-user, to prevent diabetes one has to adapt a modified lifestyle. Which means maintain near normal weight, exercise daily for 1 hour or more, take restricted diet giving exact calories based on ideal body weight. Avoid too much of sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods, pastries, sweetened aerated drinks, sweet corn syrup containing products, high fat milk products and highly processed products. Sugarless tablet alone are not much of help.

Mr. lybrate-user, If you do not have diabetes and still want to avoid sugar as part of keeping free from extra sugar, it is better to avoid even the sugar free tabs. Those are not really safe. Thanks.

Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. Drink plenty of water. For dry mouth, consider chewing sugar-free gum or sucking on sugar-free candies to help stimulate salivary flow. There also are artificial saliva?s on the market that may help to induce salivation. Sialogogues (Pilocarpine 30 mg/day. Contraindications - include many lung conditions, such as asthma, cardiac problems, epilepsy and Parkinson's disease). Advance procedures can be done with laser.
