Cavities are a result of decaying tooth. Cavities can affect the inner layer and outer coating of the teeth. They are caused by food stuff clinging onto your teeth. Symptoms of cavities are:

HOW IS CAVITIES DIAGNOSED?
The dentist finds cavities during a regular dental checkup. He’ll probe the teeth, looking for soft spots, or use X-rays to check between your teeth for the exact cause of the cavities.
HOW IS CAVITIES TREATED?
The decayed part of the tooth will be removed with the help of a drill by the dentist who will then proceed to fix fillings made up of gold, silver, porcelain or composite resin. Amalgams or mercury based fillings may also be used.
