One in every three individual has a tendency to get an allergic reaction to various external/internal agents. An allergy test is carried out to determine what substances or allergens are causing an allergic reaction in a person's body. Skins are always exposed, and hence skin allergy is one of the common forms of getting an allergic disease. After the allergic substances are found out, it would be easier for the person to be careful in the future. Also, it significantly benefits the general physician in treating them. Skin tests are most commonly done because they are reliable and less expensive than blood tests. There are three types of skin tests: Skin prick test - A small drop of solution containing the possible allergen is placed on the surface of the skin. The results are verified, and potential treatments are carried out. Intradermal test - Here the skin allergens are directly injected into the skin and are subjected to analysis. The results would tell significantly about what the nature of the skin would be if taken internally. Skin patch test - The test is like a skin prick test, but the allergen solution is placed on a pad, and is then taped to the skin for a period of time. This test is widely used to determine if a person has a condition called contact dermatitis. Allergy Test Treatment are used to find various types of allergens whether inhaled or food allergens. They are also used to determine if the person has a reaction to insect venom. The conditions are noted and possible treatment and precautions are advised to the person once the results are got.
