About Tonact-Tg Tablet

This tablet is a combination medication. The active constituent of this medication belongs to a group of drugs known as statins and Fibrate. It reduces the level of low-density lipoprotein or bad cholesterol and triglyceride in the body. The tablet helps in curing various conditions that arise due to high cholesterol levels in the body such as narrowing of arteries.

Use of this drug must be as per directed by the doctor. It is also important to take a regular dose of the tablet for best results. Avoid consuming it if you are suffering from any liver or kidney disease. Also, exercise caution if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

    How does this medication work?

    This medication increases the number of hepatic LDL receptors on the cell-surface, enhancing uptake and catabolism of LDL and it inhibits the hepatic synthesis of VLDL, thereby reducing the total number of VLDL and LDL particles. It also works by stimulating lipoprotein lipase and decreasing the formation of apoprotein C-III which in turn leads to reduction low density cholesterol and very low density cholesterol, triglyceride levels and an increase in high density lipoprotein.
