Montair Fx Tablet For Asthma

A gynecologist prescribed grilinctus and montair lc for cough issue. I checked online and found that grilinctus is not safe in pregnancy. Please suggest whether it is really not safe or it could be consumed as prescribed by the doctor.

Dear lybrate-user, relax, what you have is a condition called ccad (central compartment atopic disease. Since you have tried out all the necessary treatments why do you not go for immunotherapy for this persistent disease. Please avoid all the known causes which trigger off this disease, like pollens, house dust mite or animal dander. You may consult your nearby specialist or feel free to book an appointment and share other drug details with me. Regards.dr. Vilas misra.

I am 23 year old female. I'm known asthmatic since childhood and had been mild and not frequent. Recently I contracted covid 3 months ago and from day-10, asthma attacks started everyday. I used seroflo 250 twice a day for almost 15 days. Then I was put on oral steroids for 10 days, preventive inhaler and montemac lc by doctor. Despite the use of oral steroids, it was persistent. Then I was advised to use budesonide inhalers and montemac lc everyday. Now its been 3 months, if ever I miss montemac lc/inhalers even a single day, I feel shortness in my breath and so much of pressure/tightness in my chest. Recently montemac lc is replaced with montair fx because of dizziness problem. My questions are 1) how long do I need to take montair fx? Is there any remedy? 2) since its been 3 months post covid, is taking covid vaccine advisable? If so what kind of precautions do I take?

Yes you can go for vaccination. 1. Do saline gargles daily. 2. Whenever possible do steam inhalation also. 3. Cover your nose and mouth with hanky for at least 30 sec when you go in dusty areas also when you go in and out of ac. As our nose is the most sensitive part of our body, when there is temperature difference between two rooms or inside n outside, then if we not protect our nose, it gets affected. 4. Drink hot liquids --hot liquids relieve nasal congestion, prevent dehydration, and soothe the uncomfortably inflamed membranes that line your nose and throat. Homeopathic treatment has very encouraging results and gives relief in long term consult online with details.

My son is 9 years 6 months old. Every evening he starts coughing and clearing his throat. This is accompanied by frequent sneezing and discharge of thin mucus from the nose. However there is no expectoration of mucus on coughing. I administer montair lc kids daily after which the problem subsides. This is continuing for the last one year. Kindly suggest a remedy?

Keep your child out of dust and allergens. Dust may trigger asthma and sneezing. Continue to take inhaler. Asthma is periodic also it can be triggered due to climate change also.

There is no need to take montair and just to make your lung stronger, you can do spirometry exercises.

Dear Ms. lybrate-user, all the above symptoms that you describe are known side effects of montelukast. In my practice, I reserve montelukast only to patients with long term problems along with asthma and generally avoid using it for allergic rhinitis or other upper respiratory symptoms. It would be better for you to discontinue montelukast and consult an ent surgeon to assess your symptoms. Cough syrups are comparable to one another and offer some respite from cough but honey 2-3 ml taken as needed has also been found to be at least as beneficial if not more. Cough can be caused due to many reasons and they have to be treated based on the cause. Drinking sips of hot water every 5-10 mins will soothe your throat and help with your symptoms. Best wishes.

Drink hot liquids --hot liquids relieve nasal congestion, prevent dehydration, and soothe the uncomfortably inflamed membranes that line your nose and throat. 5. Sleep with an extra pillow under your head-- elevating your head will help relieve congested nasal passages. If the angle is too awkward, try placing the pillows between the mattress and the box springs to create a more gradual slope. 6. Treat that stuffy nose with warm salt water-- salt-water rinsing helps break nasal congestion, while also removing virus particles and bacteria from your nose. 7. Blow your nose often (and the right way)-- it's important to blow your nose regularly when you have a cold rather than sniffling mucus back into your head. But when you blow hard, pressure can carry germ-carrying phlegm back into your ear passages, causing earache. The best way to blow your nose: press a finger over one nostril while you blow gently to clear the other. Homeopathic treatment has very encouraging results. Consult online for details.
