Do kegel exercises-- firstly, find the pelvic floor muscles. You can achieve this by stopping mid-stream two or three times the next time you urinate. The muscles you can feel working during this process are the pelvic floor muscles, and they will be the focus of kegel exercises. One kegel exercise consists of tightening and holding these muscles for 5 seconds and then releasing them. Try to do between 10 and 20 repetitions each day. This may not be possible when you first start doing the exercises. However, they should become easier over time. You should be able to notice an improvement after 6 weeks. Make sure you are breathing naturally throughout this process and avoid pushing down as if you are forcing urination. Instead, bring the muscles together in a squeezing motion.

Hello doctors I suffered from covid 2.5 months back I recovered but later on I was having high pulse rate. I went for a ecg and 2 echo. Doctor found that my heart is healthy. I am suffering from inappropriate sinus tachycardia. This may mainly due to the anxiety which I had post covid .i used to breathe heavily. I didmy chest xray and every major test thyroid / kidney etc. All test were clear .he advised me ivabrad to lower the heart rate and nervenext nt for good mood (both the medicines for 20 days. My oxygen levels were absolutely fine all time 98-100 % ). I was sleepless in covid period for about a month. I was fine after taking ivabrad and nervenext for 20 days. Now suddenly again the heavy breathing starts. Again I consulted different doctor. He advise me to take corabrad and libotryp. Doctor asked me to take libotryp for good sleep and anxiety. Earlier doctor told me not to take sedative. Can this be cured without medicine? What if I take only corabrad and no libotryp.

The most effective solution for dealing with anxiety for me personally was waking up early. I am not a morning person but once I tried this, I was surprised how good this made me feel. It helped me find peace and calm myself down. Having so much time in my hand I could do small things that made me happy and I felt a sense of accomplishment just by waking up early. I feel the most anxious during the night- so sleeping early really helped me tackle it to a great extent. Meditation was another thing I tried when my anxiety was at its peak. Trust me- for someone who thinks a lot, it is no joke to shut your mind down and focus on your breathing. I could concentrate for very few minutes in the beginning but my thoughts kept spiraling back. So listening to some meditation music while I meditate helped me increase concentration. It helped me analyse my recurring thoughts and gave me more clarity about them. Mostly during such times I don’t feel like interacting with anyone- thinking that nobody will really understand how I feel. It’s great if you can talk it out and rant everything going on in your mind to someone who cares to listen. Taking it all out really helps. If you’re someone who is not comfortable with addressing this with anyone, then you can try writing down all that is going on in your mind. Once you take it all out in any manner, you will feel relieved. If you feel like you are stuck between your thoughts and feel very helpless, just do something. Take a walk, call up your friends and talk about something random, play with your pet - just do something to break that cycle that is going on in your head. Do anything that will distract you even for sometime. Take action without overthinking anything. Just go for it. Being positive and thinking right is almost impossible during such times. One of the main reasons I avoid talking to people during this time is because they may feel bad/ give some positive shit which is not what I want. You know yourself the best- try starting small and appreciating small wins. Having a motivational self-talk session/ looking in the mirror and giving yourself some positivity might help. Appreciate yourself for how far you have come and remind yourself about your strengths. Try to get a balance of the basic things that need to be right- sleep, food, health and water level. Once you get these things in check it will show better results over time. Having any kind of physical activity or a workout routine will help you fight anxiety. Doing this releases endorphins which trigger a positive feeling in the body. It will also help you reduce stress, improve sleep and help in fighting with anxiety and depression. If all the above things do not help and you are still stuck with being anxious, then there is just one way out. Confrontation. Ask yourself what is troubling you and analyse your thoughts. Address it and not run away from it. You have to feel the anxiety, be curious about it and seek answers and find out what is really going on. There will always be an underlying message or something you’re trying to run away from and are too weak to confront that. No matter how much you run away from it, sooner or later you will have to face it. This is a long process and you need to be strong and have patience to tackle it. Lastly, know that you are not alone. This feeling is just temporary. Think of it as your body’s way to communicate something with you. We feel this only when we have lost perspective and when we are lacking inspiration. We have to just find ways to get out of the drama going on in our heads and gain perspective. Anxiety is something most of us go through at different levels. We are just too weak to talk about it. It is a part of being human- you are not alone.

I am on fluoxetine fluvoxamine and libotryp. I am slowly tapering off fluoxetine as I think it is not working. Should I add venlafaxine and mirtazapine as advised by a doctor? Do these medicines interact with each other and will cause any serious side effects?

Both mirtazepine and venalafaxine are good options but it depends on your age and comorbidities, details of which need further clarification. I will go for starting only one drug after finding out which will be most appropriate in your condition.

I am currently on fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, and libotryp for 5 months. But, from 10 days ,i am feeling anxiety and depressed and feel the medicines are no more working. My Dr. advised me to add fluanxol and rivotril. I don't want to rely on so much medication. Should I consult a different psychiatrist? How will I get psychiatric medicines as most of them are not sold online?

Stress patients worry too much. Stress in today’s day & age where stress is high, feelings of frustration can emerge. It is our perception that can change our current negative situation into a healthy & positive one. Another way of perceiving these feelings of frustration can be by looking at them as an opportunity to push ourselves to go that little extra mile until we achieve our objective. However, there are times when we all can go around in circles; and being in this space can be quite upsetting and lead to feelings of dissatisfaction, frustration and can even cloud our mind and judgment. Exercise one hr daily, oil massage body, hobby, support from friends family, help others, weekly holiday, yoga, meditation to ensure that this stage is not reached, here are a few simple steps one can approach these feelings of frustration with and eventually overcome them: take nexito 10 mg daily exercise daily stop alcohol and smoke be present in the now: when one feels frustrated, we have a tendency to overthink and that too about many different things. It may momentarily occupy our mind but not in a constructive manner. We have a tendency to dissect all the past events in our minds and psychoanalyze ourselves, others & all situations related to the event or even remotely resembling it. The best thing to do at this point is to bring yourself back into the present moment, by calming yourself, center your thoughts on what is presently going on around you. You can do so in the following ways: relax into the now: find a space to sit comfortably, close your eyes and simply concentrate on the live events happening in your environment around you for a minute or two. Take a nice deep breathe, inhale and exhale, in through your nose and out through your mouth, very good, continue. Become aware of all that is happening around you at present- the sun shining in the sky above you, the children playing out in the garden, the vehicles or the individuals passing by. Take in all the details. Relax into this space, in the now. Be happy & grateful for what you have at present: make a list of all that you have in your life that make you happy, joyous or even just comfortable. Things that we sometimes take for granted. Be grateful and happy as you make this list, this is all that is positive and good in our life, smile. It's real! a few examples are:- a warm home and a roof over your head clean drinking water clean, nutritious, healthy food access to the internet and other forms of technology that make life easy your loved ones the point of power is in the present moment: sometimes anger, stress and feelings of frustration can block out all that truly matters, all that is positive & good in our lives, even when it is right in front of us. It is important and very beneficial to remember that the point of power is in the now! the present moment is when you pen down your thoughts, try to trace the root cause of your negative emotions, of the feelings of frustration. When you know the root of the problem, finding a solution becomes easy. List out possible solutions and create an action plan. Take back your power! take this time to relax, breathe, unwind and introspect. When you feel that you are better and ready to roll, get back up on your feet again & shine! no need to do so. Relax nothing is going to happen to you. Take regular exercise daily stop alcohol and smoke no need to worry. Take parox 25 mg twice daily yoga and breathing exercise all the best.

Dear Lybrate user using too many antidepressants are not at all good for health. Seek professional counseling along with medicines for better results. Counseling leads to the root cause of the problem and will help you to come out of it in an effective way.
