Fungal infections in the groin and buttocks are commonly referred to as ringworm, jock itch or tinea cruris. They occur when certain types of fungi, such as dermatophytes, grow and multiply in warm and moist areas of the body, like the groin. Symptoms of a fungal infection in the groin may include: red, itchy rash: the affected area often becomes red, itchy, and inflamed. The rash may have well-defined edges and small, raised blisters or scales. Itching and burning: the rash can cause intense itching and a burning sensation, which can be uncomfortable. Peeling or cracking skin: the skin in the groin area may become dry, flaky, or start to peel. Odor: fungal infections can sometimes cause an unpleasant odor. If the symptoms persist or worsen despite self-care measures, it is advisable to consult a healthcare professional or dermatologist. They can provide a proper diagnosis and recommend appropriate treatment options, which may include prescription-strength antifungal medications.

I have fungal infection around my genitals (between scrotum and legs) since an year. For almost first 4-5 months, I ignored it considering in could be something temporary due to scratching by nails. I started treatment and from different doctor and many od them suggested itraconazole 100 mg per day, and creams like ketoconazole. It caused temporary relief but it re-appeared after stopping medicine. Then I started my treatment with a reputed dermatologist. He suggested me itraconazole 100 mg once daily, histafree 120 mg twice daily, applying candid dusting powder in morning and a mixture of triben and nadibact cream at night with candid dusting powder. This treatment continued for 2 months and the condition improved, but it still kept coming back as I stopped medicine, even after visiting doctor again, he still kept the same treatment routine. With that now, it has almost been 2 months again, and the infection hasn't re-appeared. How much time will I need to continue with this treatment to bet totally cured? How can I know about the right time to stop medication? Do I need to see another doctor?

My tongue is getting white patches and bad smell coming out. Please suggest me what should I do.
While I understand your concern about the white patches on your tongue and bad breath, I cannot diagnose medical conditions or provide specific medical advice. Experiencing these symptoms might require consultation with a qualified healthcare professional. However, I can offer some general information and suggestions that might be helpful: possible causes of white patches on the tongue and bad breath: oral thrush: this fungal infection, caused by candida albicans, can cause white patches on the tongue and sometimes other areas of the mouth. It often affects individuals with weakened immune systems, who take antibiotics, or have uncontrolled diabetes. Leukoplakia: this precancerous condition appears as white patches on the tongue or other areas of the mouth. While typically harmless, it requires monitoring by a doctor or dentist. Lichen planus: this autoimmune skin condition can also affect the mouth, causing white patches, ulcers, and other symptoms. Poor oral hygiene: brushing and flossing teeth regularly are crucial for maintaining good oral health and preventing bad breath. Dietary factors: certain foods and beverages, like onions, garlic, and coffee, can contribute to bad breath. Smoking: smoking and tobacco use can significantly worsen bad breath and oral health. Tips for managing the symptoms: maintain good oral hygiene: brush your teeth twice daily and floss once a day. Consider using a tongue scraper to remove bacteria and debris from the surface of your tongue. Stay hydrated: drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep your mouth moist and help flush out bacteria. Avoid irritating foods and beverages: minimize your intake of foods and drinks known to contribute to bad breath, like onions, garlic, coffee, and alcohol. Quit smoking: if you smoke, quitting is one of the best things you can do for your overall health and oral hygiene. Recommendations: consult a doctor or dentist: they can examine your tongue and mouth, diagnose the underlying cause of your symptoms, and recommend appropriate treatment. Practice good oral hygiene habits: following proper brushing, flossing, and tongue cleaning practices is essential for maintaining good oral health and preventing future problems. Maintain a healthy lifestyle: eating a balanced diet, getting regular exercise, and managing stress can all contribute to good oral health and overall well-being. Remember, seeking professional medical advice is crucial for understanding the cause of your white patches and bad breath, receiving proper treatment, and maintaining good oral health. Don't hesitate to schedule consultations with relevant healthcare professionals to address your concerns and improve your well-being. I hope this information is helpful and encourages you to prioritize your health by seeking professional assistance.

The way you are describing the discharge and its colour it does not appear to be is coming from inside. Maybe there is an infection outside and norfloxacin also is not a medicine for vaginal infection. It is for something else. It is very important that you consult us immediately otherwise the skin will become s rated and if this is the colour of the infection then it is an infected discharge and yes of course infection will come again and again only treating you is not the solution. Partner also needs to be treated.

It's important to seek professional medical advice for any concerns about your health, especially when it involves sensitive areas like your mouth and genitals. I cannot provide medical diagnoses or treatment recommendations. Here's what I can suggest: for your tongue: schedule an appointment with your dentist: they can examine your tongue and determine the cause of the white hairy patches and red spots. It could be something common like oral thrush, which is a fungal infection, or something else entirely. Avoid self-diagnosing: don't try to diagnose your tongue concerns yourself based on online information. Only a qualified healthcare professional can give you an accurate diagnosis and recommend proper treatment. For your genital area: schedule an appointment with your doctor or a urologist: they can examine the rashes or tiny spots and determine the cause. It could be something like a yeast infection, balanitis, or another skin condition. Avoid self-treating or applying any creams or ointments: this could worsen the situation or interfere with proper diagnosis and treatment. Remember, it's always better to err on the side of caution when it comes to your health. Don't hesitate to seek professional help to ensure you get the proper diagnosis and treatment. Here are some additional resources that you may find helpful: the american dental association: url/ the american academy of family physicians: url/home. I need details of case n preferably pics of affected area. But it can be jock itch/fungal infection. U can try this (do patch test first) wash the affected skin two to three times a day. Keep the affected area dry.Avoid excess affected skin irritation by wearing 100% cotton underwear. Avoid fabric softeners, bleaches, or harsh laundry detergents. Wash your workout clothes, underwear, socks, and towels after each use. Keep your affected area, inner thighs, and buttocks clean and dry, especially after you exercise and shower. After showering or bathing, dry the irritated affected area by gently patting it with a towel. Be sure to dry your skin thoroughly. Mix two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in two cups of warm water. Wash the infected area with this solution and allow it to dry on its own. Another option is to apply a mixture of equal parts of white vinegar and coconut oil on the affected skin. Like hydrogen peroxide, rubbing alcohol can help kill off the fungus that's on the surface level of the skin. You can apply it directly to the affected area listerine: it has antiseptic, antifungal and antibacterial properties, which help treat skin problem here are some tips to help you manage the infection:avoid using oily skin products.Reduce your exposure to the sun. Exposure to the sun may trigger or worsen an episode, do not wear tight clothing. Wear breathable fabrics, such as cotton, to decrease sweating. For this homeopathic treatment is very effectivefor more details consult online.
