    How does this medication work?

This is a local anaesthetic that works by stabilising the neuronal membrane by blocking the voltage gated sodium channels. It inhibits depolarisation of the postsynaptic nerve that prevents transmission of pain signals. This also enters into the organism (bacteria) and forms the free radical. A concentration gradient is created in the organism due to alteration in the molecule and promotes the influx of the molecule. Thus, the free radical and the altered molecule will interfere with the DNA synthesis and stops the growth of the organism.
