Pimoz 4Mg Tablet belongs to a group of antipsychotic drugs. It works by inhibiting the production of dopamine, which is a chemical occurring naturally in the brain. It is used to treat patients suffering from Tourette syndrome that causes muscular tics or speech tics. The drug is administered when other medicines have proved ineffective. You cannot take this medicine if you are a patient of fluctuating potassium or magnesium levels in the blood, or have low blood pressure, or a condition of irregular heart rate. The drug cannot be used to treat any other tic problems that are not related to the Tourette syndrome. You may be advised against the medicine if you have a history of kidney or liver disorder, enlarged prostate, glaucoma in the eyes, if you are on drugs to control seizures or if you have a low count of white blood cells. The medicine can be taken orally, with or without food, as directed by the doctor. You must avoid grape fruit juice during the period of treatment, along with abstinence from alcohol, smoking, tobacco and caffeine.

The medicine may weaken the immunity system of the body, dizziness, sleepiness or high fever. It is advised to avoid driving after a dosage of the medicine.

In addition to its intended effect, Pimoz 4Mg Tablet may cause some unwanted effects too. In such cases, you must seek medical attention immediately. This is not an exhaustive list of side effects. Please inform your doctor if you experience any adverse reaction to the medication.
