The cream also prevents the synthesis of essential proteins, which is required by bacteria to carry out vital functions and also prevent them from forming their own protective covering, thus causes lysis of the cell wall. It binds to phospholipids in the fungal cell membrane and alters it's permeability and also by binding to the 30S subunit of the bacterial ribosomes thus inhibits the protein synthesis in the bacteria and stops the growth of the bacteria.
