About Dermotriad Plus Cream

This is a combination medication which has Clobetasol and Gentamicin as active ingredients. It is a very strong corticosteroid having a very high potency. This cream reduces the actions of chemicals that cause inflammation in the body. It is used to treat inflammation, redness, and itching caused by many skin conditions. This cream blocks the production of prostaglandins that make the skin red, swollen and itchy. Gentamicin is an antibiotic. It stops bacterial growth by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by the bacteria to carry out vital functions.

Apply this cream to the affected area, usually twice every day in the morning and evening or as directed by your doctor. Apply this cream only on the skin. Make sure to not use it on the face, groin or underarms unless directed by your doctor. Do not apply smaller or larger amounts than prescribed. Avoid contact with eyes and do not consume the medicine.

Gentamicin belongs to the class aminoglycosides. It works by binding to the 30S subunit of the bacterial ribosomes thus inhibits the protein synthesis in the bacteria and stops the growth of the bacteria.
