You did the sex without protection. There are every chances to get the pregnancy. Do the pregnancy test first. If it is negative then there is nothing to worry.

Is Masturbation Directly Related to Your Wellbeing?

MD - Psychiatry, Diploma in Psychological Medicine, MBBS

Is Masturbation Directly Related to Your Wellbeing?

Masturbation, which has always been a taboo subject, is slowly gaining attention as an issue that can be discussed openly.

In fact, there are several myths associated with masturbation which have been long held. Let's debunk these myths first. The following ideas about masturbation are not only untrue, they are also misleading.

Myth #1: It causes weaknesses
Myth #2: It causes loss of energy
Myth #3: It leads to Impotence
Myth #4: It may induce problem in future sex life or causes guilt
Myth #5: It can cause Nightfall

So what is the truth?

People are beginning to understand that masturbation is not simply a superficial form of pleasuring the self, but an activity that can provide some benefits in terms of health and fitness as well.

Not only that, masturbation also helps men and especially women, learn more about their own sexual behavior, preferences, and desires. It helps them become more comfortable with their body and in tune with their own inner minds.

Here is how masturbation can lead to well-being

1. Masturbation as a process of stress relief: Pleasing oneself after a hectic and taxing day at work can reduce a lot of stress. The activity releases endorphins into the blood which helps to improve one's overall mood and helps the individual to relax. In the 21st century, this is indeed a great advantage where people are constantly under pressure from various areas of life.

2. Masturbation to strengthen the body: In case of women, masturbation makes the muscles of the pelvic floor stronger. Along with this, it decreases the likelihood of developing yeast infections in the vagina or surrounding areas. This improves bladder control and also improves sexual experiences. For men, masturbation helps to develop better resistance to prostate gland infections. It also helps to improve the health of the prostate. It also gives a boost to the immune system.

3. Masturbation also helps with PreMenstrual Syndrome: Most women go through a wide variety of PMS symptoms such as intense stomach cramping, mood fluctuation, anxiety, tension, and pain in the legs and the back. Masturbation has been found to ease these problems to a great extent.

4. Masturbation demystifies the concepts of sex and sexuality: In Indian society, discussing sex and sexuality is seen as taboo. Discussing these issues openly is regarded as immoral. This causes many people, especially young people, to have unclear ideas about their own bodies and bodily desires. This causes a lot of stress and anxiety in their minds. Masturbation helps them to come to terms with these issues by exploring their own bodies in a new way. This helps to promote well being by dismantling primitive ideas about sex and sexuality.

Identify Your Headache- Could be Migraine Due to Bad Oral Hygiene

MBBS, Basic Life Support (B.L.S), Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Fellow of Academy of General Education (FAGE)
General Physician, Bangalore
Identify Your Headache- Could be Migraine Due to Bad Oral Hygiene

Maintaining good oral hygiene has now become all the more important. A new study has linked the cause of migraines to be a specific type of bacteria present in mouth and gut. People complaining of splitting headaches is fairly common place nowadays. Statistics in india show that nearly one third indian women and one fifth of indian men suffer from this type of headache.

Symptoms of migraine include:

Moderate to severe pain that affects the whole head or may shift to one side
Increased sensitivity to light, sound and pungent odour
    Blurring of vision
    Nausea and/or vomiting
    Dizziness, fatigue
Seeing dark spots in front of eyes

There are three different types of headaches- severe headache, cluster headache and migraine.

Headache is simply unpleasant pain in the head region of varying intensity. Cluster headache is intense one sided headache with tearing in the eye of the side of the pain. Migraines are moderate to severe pain in the head, usually diffuse and presents along with the above stated symptoms.

Causes of migraine:

Knowing what causes migraine can help avoid it. Common causes that affect different people are as follows:

    Stress
    Hormonal changes and supplements
    Over use of contraceptive pills
    Exertion
    Excessive heat
Sleeping in small closed rooms with inadequate ventilation
    Overuse of mosquito repellent
    Acidity
    Bad oral hygiene
    High bp
    Overuse of pain killers
    Smoking

Food that triggers migraine:

Many people experience migraine because of different food items. Identify your trigger and then try hard to avoid it.

    Chocolates
    Wine
    Processed and canned meat products
Onions, potatoes, spinach, and over eating of rice

Since many years now, nitrate medicines have been used to maintain cardiovascular health and previous research has revealed that heart patients who were given medications containing nitrates routinely complained of headaches. The migraineurs had high nitrate levels, but the actual connection to link the two had not been established until now.

Researchers at the university of california-san diego investigated this further to identify the connection between what the migraineurs eat that alters their experience with migraines. Bacterial sequencing was done on the 172 participants of samples collected from their mouth and gut. Tests showed an abundance of nitrate reducing bacteria in their faecal samples, but even more in their mouth bacteria.

The study published in the journal msystems has identified the link between oral bacteria and migraine, but it is still not evident whether these bacteria are the cause or a result of migraine. But even then it is best to stay safe from our side by maintaining a healthy lifestyle and a good oral hygiene. Migraine is often neglected by the patients and hence becomes difficult to treat. Identify the above triggers and causes of migraine and consult a physician if you have any of them.

It can be taken 1 tab 6 to 8 hourly after taking food for two three days are not harmful for the person who is not allergic to it or otherwise healthy, means do not have any chronic Kidney or Liver disease. Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a condition in which man has trouble in keeping or getting an erection. It is a common male sexual dysfunction. It becomes more common as you get older but it is not a part of aging. MECHANISM OF ERECTION An erection starts in the brain. Physical and mental stimulation is required for an erection to begin. This stimulation causes nerves in the brain to send chemical messages to nerves which are present in the penis which results in the free flow of blood into the penis. This leads to high pressure in the penis which in turn traps the blood within both corpora cavernosa and then the penis expand. This causes the penis to sustain an erection. When the inflow of blood is stopped, then it opens outflow channels and then penis becomes soft. Then an erection is said to be reversed. CAUSES OF ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION Erection is a complex process which involves hormones, brain, emotions, muscles, nerves and blood vessels. Problem with any one of these can lead to erectile dysfunction. Sometimes stress and mental health can also lead to erectile dysfunction. Combination of Physical and Psychological issues can lead to erectile dysfunction. Some medicines like antidepressants can also cause this and if you are taking any medication you have to discuss with your treating doctor to change or stop medicine if possible PHYSICAL CAUSES OF ED •Heart disease, high blood pressure, High cholesterol. •Parkinson's disease, obesity, alcoholism, atherosclerosis. •Use of tobacco, surgeries that affect the pelvic area or spinal cord. •Treatments for prostate cancer. PSYCHOLOGICAL ISSUES OF ED: Depression, anxiety, stress and other mental health conditions are some of the psychological issues which causes erectile dysfunction. SYMPTOMS OF ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION •Trouble in getting erection •Difficulty in keeping erection •Reduced sexual desire To Prevent ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION By decreasing the chances of developing several diseases like diabetes, heart disease and hypertension, chances of developing erectile dysfunction can be decreased to some extent. By eating healthy diet, erectile dysfunction can be managed. By doing Exercise daily and by avoiding smoking, risk for developing erectile dysfunction can be decreased. If you do not have any diseases it is only your mind that is preventing your erection. So you need to be calm and stop worrying about it and keep on doing normally.

What are the main symptoms of diabetes and how it can be cured and what exercise useful to cure it.

MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology
Endocrinologist, Hubli-Dharwad
What are the main symptoms of diabetes and how it can be cured and what exercise useful to cure it.
Mr Azad, There are mainly 2 types of diabetes T1 and T2. Most common variety is T2 DM, occurring due to deficiency of Insulin , secreted by beta cells of pancreas or resistance to its action or both. Plus being over weight and inactivity contribute to it. Usually does not cause any symptoms, hence many persons do not come to know they have diabetes. When fully developed may cause excess urination, excess hunger, excess thirst, unexplained tiredness and weight loss. This disease can only be controlled by taking proper drugs or insulin injections. There is no cure for it. Treatment has to be for lifetime. Person has to adapt a modified lifestyle like : taking restricted diet matching ideal body weight, exercising regularly, avoiding too much of sweets, junk foods, pastries, alcohol and smoking. Exercising 1 hour a day, consuming more of green leafy vegetables and salads.

Few things related to headache so that we can plan the treatment accordingly - if pain is associated with blurred or decreased vision than check your eye sight for refractive error - if the pain is associated with cold and fever than we have to rule out sinusitis as the cause and if the pain is pulsatile in nature and with a throbbing pain usually with an aura than we have to rule out migrane as the cause - if the pain is associated with neck problems than we have to rule out cervical spondylosis as the cause - if the pain is associated with either low or high bp or due to hyperacidity than we have to treat the cause after examination.
